Thank you for being so open hearted, simply listening to your honest experience gave me more motivation than anything else. Best of luck with everything!
Taking mine in a few days, PGY2 here. I have push hard to study but after 8-10hours work day it’s just so hard to focus on anything. I did quite a bit but now need something to clam my nerves down. Thanks for your encouragement, it really helps.😊😊
Hello. What is your residency in? As an IMG, can you make a video explaining your applications, costs, number of interviews, rotations, etc. I feel it's much better to know all these from someone who actually got into the system. Thanks
Thanks for the idea! I can try my best to find out the exact prices of residency applications, Ive mentioned before you can apply to as many programs as you want but that means the more applications= more $$$ for ERAS! I believe the first 10 programs are $100 then any after that are $30 Per program! So you have to choose strategically!
My program requires us to take it in PGY-1 year. Which is honestly probably good because as a pediatrics resident, trying to keep all of that adult information in the brain when it isn't what you are doing clinically is tricky.
hey! yes i think its a great idea because it will allow you to apply to more programs who specifically strongly encourage step 3 be completed and it will allow you to apply for an HIB visa which is a much better visa to have on the path to a US greencard, hope that helps!
Great information, but think about that if you failed the step3 before your match, would that affect your application, and chance for a residency spot?
your program might have time limitations on when you can take it, some say within 3 months, 6 months, my program wanted it done by the 3rd month of 2nd year. So you have to choose based on that, i picked a time when i was on a easy rotation and could study and practice the most!
Hello. I am from India. I competed step 1 in 2013 March , 2 ck and 2 cs by 2015 and left it after I didn't get residency. I want to start preparing for step 3. Its been long. Do i have to study usmle step 1 and 2 books? Apart from u world and notes, u didn't mention any books per se for step 3...is MTB, kaplan and first aid enough for passing? Do u suggest any other book?
