Royal definitely took it to the next level with these crew areas. Happy crew means happy guests. A special shout out to the crew bar, every bit as nice as any guest bar. Outstanding!

It's good that RCL has upgraded the crew neighborhood just as they are doing for the passengers. It is more important for the crew because of how long your contracts are.

Royal have done such a good job with this ship. Love that they not only raised the bar for passenger accommodation but for crew too. The bar at the end is nicer than some of the guest bars on other ships!!! Love the portholes.

I recently sailed on Icon and the staff they have on this ship is incredible! Every single one of them we interacted with was top notch!

Chris, I am delighted to see that Royal Caribbean is giving its Icon staff the best treatment in the entire cruise industry. The Crew Neighbourhood is effectively a ship within the megaship! It is as big as, or even bigger than, many ships, given that Icon has about 2,300 employees and the majority of ships are carrying fewer passengers than that, right?

this is the best crew area , we were lucky to have crew cafeteria/tiny/small buffet the crew gym never used and crew bar was cheap drinks $1.00 2003 when I was on princess, worked as musician. I like color schemes and crew areas were so beautifully designed. Royal knows how to take care of their crew for sure they just work them 12-16hrs day excluding musicians in lounges or showroom theatres.

Reminds me of the Captain Nights late night buffets they used to do 20 years ago. I miss it!

Wow at the Crew Appreciation Dinner! I realize this isn't a typical night, but the fact that they went all-out with ice sculptures, elaborate decorations, beautifully displayed food speaks volumes. Same with the crew areas being fitted with nice fittings and furniture that are more than worthy of guest areas. RC didn't have to do this, but that they took the extra effort and expense is impressive. All of this makes me want to give RC business over other cruise lines.

Very nice. It's like you're getting the cruise experience and not some boring backstage industrial area. Bravo RC.

Thanks for a visit to the crew neighborhood. It is great to see Royal upping their game in caring for their tireless crew members. While cruise guests are continuing to pay increasingly higher prices, it is nice to see some of that money being well invested in crew amenities and not just pocketed as more profits. Thanks Chris

This was so amazing to see. The concept of 'neighbourhoods' blew my mind when I was on Symphony last year, but this is NEXT LEVEL. The fact the crew have another hidden neighbourhood 'behind the scenes' is fascinating - thanks for showing us this!

that is highly commendable and should be THE STANDARD for other cruise lines as well. I saw a video about another company where the passengers could tell the CREW were not happy at all and appeared Stressed to the Max.

First Chris Wong video for me. I have always heard that the crew are treated like trash. Icon did you all great. I am so happy to see you have upscale food and places to meet up and have fun. I don't make enough money to cruise very often but when I have cruised it has been with Celebrity. My 92 year old mom I care for has payed my way to go on the Celebrity Apex in 2 wéeks for a family reunion. I love the Icon but besides the fact I can't afford it, I am disabled and couldn't possibly walk very far. Thankyou and I joined your channel.

Spent 6 years on ships first with Princess then Disney. Seeing this set up, I hope it sets an example for other cruise lines to follow.

Chris, towards the end of this video, I was happy to see the crew's Fitness Centre and also that you exercise and do not smoke tobacco. However, working in a smoke-filled casino every day is just as bad as actually smoking. Do you wear a mask while you are working? Are you advocating for smoke-free casinos?

You don’t get to see cooks on break since they are cooking for the guests and crew. Lots of buffet stations to fill even the areas the guests don’t see. Nice to see a few on break.
