Been there loads of times, but never had to pay to park, £3 the thief-ing b**********s! Ok, they have spent some money up there, but hay! Anyway, it can be busy, and who on earth wants McDonald's up there? Oh yes, the tourists! There are usually a lot of bikers up there, but at the time of year you visited, I am surprised there was any life other than the odd seagull.

Jan de Groot opened a trading post. There's more there than last time I went. Hotel, a few new buildings, gift shop or two and a cafe and the passenger ferry. The first time even less, the octagonal hotel, a gift shop and the ferry. We were supposedly camping but the weather was wild, wet and windy so we stayed in the hotel.

John O Groats does not need such things as McDonald’s. Folk in the highlands use local produce & cook themselves. Go back from Easter onwards & the camper vans & all tourists will be there in their droves. Thankyou for your video. If however you are not keen on beautiful Caithness, then no need for you to return. Safe travels back to Blackpool.
@AWalkontheWildSideBlackpool
I was joking about McDonald's. I didn't seriously expect them to have one, but thought it would be funny to mention it in a video. I had a great time in Scotland & wish I lived up there. I will certainly get back if I get chance.
