You know, the problem with doing a "will they, won't they" couple, especially when it comes to this show is you make so good a case for the people they dated before, that we don't even care about the couple you were so obviously trying to push together from the beginning. Simone and Lando & Thea and Damon were better than they had anticipated. They had better chemistry. It's okay to pivot when it comes to that. I don't think anyone woulda complained. I know I wouldn't' have.

that just shows that SHES the problem. she not only lacks commitment but she lacks empathy as well because if she was really that understanding, then it wouldn’t have been a surprise that lando was giving her the cold shoulder treatment considering that she left bro in the dark for a whole year and then wants to be back in his life after ending it with damon.
