All American S5XE10 - Ending Scene - Spencer and Coach Baker 

Yes Billy has a right to make his own decision however, everything Spencer said was true. Also Billy in deciding to take on the role as principal stated that even if this opportunity came up he wouldn’t take it literally had conversation with Grace. So both sides have merit. Neither is wrong or right they are both right in their reasons. In addition, Spencer is loyal to his community there is absolutely nothing wrong with that.

I disagree. Although ultimately it is Billy’s decision Spencer & Billy always had a different perspective on community & his relationship with Billy helped to change that. Furthermore, Spencer is completely speaking from experience & offering a different perspective his family wasn’t. Everyone has merit & speaking from someone who had similar life experiences as Spencer his viewpoint I completely resonated with.

Spencer's perspective is diff from Billy's, u can advice but he had no right to be mad that Billy wanted something bigger for himself no matter how close u r to the person. Thats my own submission

@@Iphe87 of course everyone is entitled to their opinion & perspective while i agree that is is ultimately the person’s decision I don’t agree that it’s that simple. I still believe that Spencer had merit for feeling how we felt and just like his family had their view I think that is realistic that Spencer felt how he felt & expressed how he felt to Billy. I completely understood where Spencer was coming from & as I stated coming from a similar experience & feeling the same way about my community Spencer’s vantage point & experience resonated I got the reason why he felt the way he did and his feelings I don’t think he was wrong it was realistic & eventually with time they would have come back together. But at the end of the day of course we can all have our take aways. However, we absolutely need individuals in life we share the perspectives on community as Spencer’s character it truly makes such an impact it does change lives & direction of young lives that are often forgot about & that’s just fact. But I appreciate the dialogue because it’s so important to be able to share in a respectful space even if we may differ in some of it.

Yes we will agree to disagree when you are upset with someone’s decision people get mad & upset. Again I don’t think Spencer was wrong but we can respectfully disagree and that’s okay.

@@Iphe87they had every right to be mad, they told him this last season before he even took the job, Grace told him if offered a coaching gig at a D1 school he would drop being principal and take it and he swore to her that he wouldn’t. And now look what Billy did he took the job, I don’t know how you guys don’t see the wrong in that. He made a commitment to be there long term

i don’t think his intentions are to do that. he has this mindset of needing to save everyone and he’s putting it off on billy which is completely not fair. billy is not him and i hope he comes to his senses to understand that

Yes I don’t see Spencer as a gaslighter at all. He is about his community and there is nothing wrong with that and is speaking from a personal connection and honesty. Ultimately it’s up to Billy but I completely understand Spencer’s viewpoint it may be a TV show but it’s a argument that’s transcended and holds in real life period. Furthermore, Grace and Billy literally has this conversation about if this situation came up and Billy’s exact words were no being a principal at Crenshaw was his end game. Are people forgetting that. We need more people like Spencer in the world if you ask me. I think individuals like a Lebron James and a TI are great examples of this principal which Spencer is addressing. Team Spencer

I don’t think Spencer is wrong for feeling how he feels and addressing Billy since Billy wasn’t being honest & ducking Spencer. Spencer was 100% in everything he said to Billy.

It’s not self righteous Spencer had merit to his viewpoint & I didn’t think he was wrong. If we didn’t have people like Spencer who completed stood for his community or mentors who returned to community we wouldn’t have some individuals who are often forgotten about become the lights they became. We may not have individuals like our public figures or community figures who make an impact for the better so no he isn’t annoying that is what a great man looks like sorry.

Completely agree not self righteous Spencer was speaking facts. Billy did become a better man coming back to his community & Spencer explaining how he transcends being a coach to the kids at Crenshaw was also facts. It also was nice to see people show another perspective that can actually speak to it. Team Spencer!
