CS2 would have been a perfect game if they had banned cheaters this fast.

Ngl the fact cheaters don’t get banned this quickly should be a reminder to all newer gamers that they can fix all glitches and exploits easily and quickly but won’t because it doesn’t effect their money

It’s not a “XP Glitch” as in your title. It’s an XP exploit. If it was a glitch then people would naturally be able to join these lobbies by pressing play.

Yall got a few things technically wrong. 1: it was technically a bugged lobby in a sense, but what the bug was is a huge exploit that brought back a deleted game mode from csgo. That being Team Deathmatch. Regular ffa lobbies had an xp rate of 0.2x. The TDM lobby had an xp rate of 3.0x. Thats 15x the Regular xp gained. 2: these lobbies were NOT private. As long as you had someone on your friends list who was in the server, you had direct access to it given there was a spot. I am friends with BungerCS, who is friends with RemixFloats, ArrowCS, PSP, and many others. He was the servers all the time. (Red background pfp with a steamhappy emote. Its just steamhappy over uncle ben logo). He got trade banned. I never joined so i didn't get one, but i had multiple opportunities to join and i have never talked to any of the others in there

They did an exploit that requires third party software to perform. All these extra skins would be hitting the market and affecting prices. This is not a victimless exploit and it certainly affects other players. (The wallhack console command is totally on players too. They KNEW what they were doing. It didn't happen by accident.)

Valve do be quick at quashing exploits but never quashing cheaters. 🙄🙄🙄

abusing glitch is bad, but when so many people do it, the problem isnt the glitch, its your predatory system that says "better find a glitch than grind that shit"

Armory pass isn’t that much of a grind honestly. Ppl r just super impatient. It hasn’t even been 1 week and most ppl I play with have gotten their 40 stars legit.

They can still play, still buy, and still receive trades. Valve just forced them to maintain a saving's account for a year. Hardly a punishment.

This video didn’t explain the situation very well. The bans were handed out to people who took part in an exploit that forced the game to create team deathmatch lobbies, a game mode not normally available in CS2. The XP gained for team DM is exponentially greater than any other game mode, allowing you to get 5-8 stars per pass for a single game of team deathmatch. No one that farmed XP with nades/knives/etc in casual was banned.

it's only a one year trade ban. I wish it was a permanent ban but sadly Valve likely didn't do it because they didn't want another McSkillet situation on their hands.

shouldn't be punishable. as a community we played the game how we wanted to. it only became bannable because valve realized they would it would mess with their money

To people saying they did an exploit, you are dead wrong. The people who set up the servers were the ones doing an exploit, not the people joining them. There is a very important distinction there. All the streamers did, was joining a deathmatch lobby. This is just Valve trying to maximize their profits from the passes, and not actually helping the game in any way. You can easily see this by comparing how quickly these people got banned vs how long it takes for cheaters to get banned.

They're CS2 players, they should know that if you play stupid games, you win stupid prizes.

There is a huge difference between Valve having a bug and exploiting, if you do something that doesnt feel right and feels like an exploit, you have two options, report it and dont do it, or continue to exploit it and face the consequences. Im 100% sure that everyone who did it knew exactly what they were doing and assumed that valve would not ban them.

I dont know if they F with valves money. Cuz they complete passes faster, they can buy more in a shorter time so basically they give valve more money more frequently

I find it funny that they acted super fast on trade banning people (b/c it messed with valve's money). But almost nothing has been done to combat the cheater problem. Glad I haven't played in 1 year :D

Glitches like this in any game at most deserve a roll back. At the end of the day, you aren't harming anyone else

getting stars fast is one thing. how could they get like 900 if max amount of pass is only 5. which would be max of 200 stars. is it really that bugged? or could they buy more after they completed all stars?

Well... If it was only multiplier issue than it's a valve's fuckup. However, since what they did was essentially "stat padding" with setup matches, I think the punishment was even too little (valve should remove all items from the inventory IMHO).

You basically break the Valve service agreement for taking advantage of the game exploit even though it won't probably make you a profit, bans deserved.

This is not as bad as u think , they can just redeem a bunch of skins and let them go up in value, wich they definitely will and then sell them after a year for insane profit

I think this is different from the wall hacks exploit in that it doesn’t negatively affect gameplay. Even though the wall hacks thing was valves fault, I still think they should’ve banned people frequently using the exploit. This however does not negatively affect gameplay, it hardly even affects valves wallet since the passes are bought regardless. I think they should’ve just fixed it and moved on without bans.

my account is over 21 years old with $30K in cs2 inventory. i was definitely tempted to exploit armory experience BUT i knew that doing it put everything I had on the line and I didnt want to take that risk

Alright chat… 1. Valve is a private company and has the right to ban and control their skins market as they wish. 2. It is a privilege to be able to have a game where the in game cosmetics economy is able to be cashed out for real money. 3. If you do something that affects the supply and demand of the market then you are not only potentially hurting Valve, but you are hurting all players that naturally earned those skins by deflating the price artificially. Would you like your most prized skin to all of a sudden be worth 60% less because some bozos thought it’d “hurt nobody” if they changed a few game files? Come on now…

I don't know where you get your information from, but it seems you are just guessing that he was banned, especially considering you didn't provide any proof of his ban. I get where the argument that "this is Valve's fault" comes from, but by that logic ANY exploit is Valve's fault for not catching it before it goes live, and no one should ever be banned for exploiting. Is the star system shit/predatory? Yeah, I'd say so. But thats not a free pass to avoid consequences
