They should have gotten together and I stand by this. Personally, I think they Ben and Darius were meant to be together, but the creators had to make the choice between Yasammy and Benrius
Don’t get me wrong, I ADORE both ships, and both pairings had their moments, but i feel like Yaz and Sammy had more buildup in their relationship as they had chemistry even in the beginning of the series, and their moments were a lot more noticeable, y’know?

What I meant to say is that I feel that Kenji/Brooklynn, Ben/Darius, and Yaz/Sammy were all pairings that were supposed to happen and/or implied to happen. For whatever reason, they chose to not make Benrius (officially) canon. I definitely didn't mean for my comment to come across that Benrius should have been canon over Yasammy!! I definitely see what you mean. Yaz and Sammy had this immediate connection while I feel that for Ben and Darius their connection happened after Ben's fall from the monorail.
OK, here is my over-analyzed explanation for them. During the seasons Ben liked Kenji because he saw himself as weak but when he got a jungle boy arc he needed him less and soon fell out of love when he saw how he acted around Brooklyn. Then he realized how everyone seemed closer in couple terms when they were in that ditch, (last season.) being said that is what made him so upset there. And also he noticed how well his relationship was with Darius but felt as if it was too late because again every one was coupling up and they were about to leave the island eventually. Also he felt like Darius wouldn't like him because of their small feuds so in the end he became more distant to him in the season but it all started in the ditch. (That's why he shrugged off Darius's help in that one scene.) The end.
When you know if the directors continue the season with a final season 6, it's probably gonna become canon cause they are now putting LGBTQIA+ stuff in the series
In season 5 is there some friendly scenes of Darius with Sammy and yaz like here with him and Ben? Seriously, are there some friendly Darius and Sammy moments or Darius and yaz moments in season 5?
YESSS!! last night i watched the first 4 episodes and i instantly picked up on their chemistry! Also, the camera zooms into the way Ben touched Darius on the arm(i can't remember if it was the other way around) and the way Ben looks at Darius? and throughout Camp Cretaceous(mostly the first seasons) Ben kept giving off gay vibes. however, i can't say the same for Darius and that's why i don't think it will become cannon, which is so unfortunate because they would make such a cute pair! but all we can do is hope that it happens because IT WOULD BE SO COOL!
They are just best friends and if anyone says Kenji and Darius are best friends they are not because they are brothers, Darius and Ben are best friends and plus it’s already confirmed that Ben has a girlfriend and Darius has a crush on Brooklyn in chaos theory but honestly I could go without romantic relationships for chaos theory because it makes me uncomfortable when a animated couple kiss
All went through so much together. The Campers in general are more than just friends at this point. They are family. Also Darius and Ben act like an old married couple in episode 2 and it's so entertaining
