Stell was only supposed to do the opening act for David Foster's concert. He sang All I Ask by Adele, Defying Gravity from Wicked and his own debut single, Room. During the sound check, David asked Stell to sing All By Myself. Stell was surprised by his request since he was not prepared for it, but he did so since he said the opportunity to sing with DF was a once in a lifetime event. DF then told Stell that they would perform ABM later during the concert proper. Before Stell sang ABM, DF shared with the audience that Celine Dion got angry with him initially since he changed the key of the song and made it higher, he even showed a clip of Celine on screen during an interview with Andy Cohen. After which DF told Stell he only had once chance to sing ABM and the rest is history. 😊

What makes this performance even more incredible is that Stell was only supposed to be an opening act and this "All By Myself" performance was unplanned, not part of the concert repertoire, and an impromptu challenge from David Foster. It's insane to think that he had already sung three high-pitched and vocally demanding songs, and to top it off, he's not in the best condition (he's sick). I had to mention, too, that a day prior to the concert, SB19 had intense performances at an event. And the elephant in the room-he's a man, hitting the piece in female key and doing it cleanly. Stell is a legend in the making!
