Riptide Terrier is basically a love letter to the Bertone design house, reminds me so much of the Lancia Stratos Zero prototype and the Alfa Romeo Carabo!

The Weiler is my #1, and it really isn’t even close. The regular Outlaw was my favorite car from the base game, and I wasn’t ever really all that impressed with the cars from Phantom Liberty, until I got my hands on the Weiler. It is the quintessential spy car; at first glance it oozes style and suave grace, but upon a closer look the car’s true nature as a deadly weapon is revealed. It is delightful to look at, fast, handles well, and can shoot super effectively. You can tell just by looking at it that CDPR’s first thought was “what car would James Bond drive in Night City?” Nothing compares.

my favorite car of the dlc so far has been the outlaw weiler, but the car you get from mr hands is also super dope

Terrier has become my favorite car in game overall, next to the weiler, I love the retro-futurism design and the fact it looks like a spaceship with the cockpit doors. It’s like a compact Lambo and I love it so much, glad to see it’s so high up ❤️‍🔥

The riptide terrier is honestly one of my favorite fictional vehicles ever. I spent hours doing car quests to unlock the thing and it was the last car I unlocked so worth saving all my discounts to get it for free also. It may not be the best car but it wins my heart off of looks and the effort it took to get alone. Also love the videos 🎉

During the mission kidnapping the twins, V could hack the car's front camera to see out of it. Wish we could do that with our own cars so driving in first person was easier.

Love the Weiler, but the Caliburn just handles so well - it's also got a neat spoiler that only comes out when you reach a certain speed, which is fun.

When I was curious about the more in depth Story/Secrets/Hidden Connections or just nice little details and facts about Cyberpunk 2077. I think you were one of the first people I found and well have watched lots of, I love your In depth and detailed videos on the game. I'm excited for more of your videos especially relating to Phantom Liberty, Do take your time and I hope you have been enjoying making these as much as we have been enjoying watching them.

My favourite mode of transportation is Motorcycle. The Kusanagi will always be my go-to favourite. However, my heart grew room for a new car when Phantom Liberty dropped. For those times when I don't want to flee, I happily summon my Hellhound. This tier list has me considering the Weiler though should I find myself in need of both. Great video, easy like. ♥

Mai Mai is the only car to choose. I usually use Jackie's Arch cause its easy to weave through traffic and Mai Mai is by far the easiest car to weave through traffic and easily fits in between the cars at the intersections. Its also the only car that says hello and goodbye to you.

Hey Sam great video again and I was waiting for this one to comment on two of the cars in Cyberpunk and how their design cues reminded me of several / certain cars and why they were designed this way. Starting with the Herrera Riptide "Terrier" that car is based on a few real world cars in my opinion, the overall aesthetic is based on many different Italian super cars especially those from the 80's and 90's but the overale size and shape I equate to the Lancia Stratos and Delorean based on the overall dimensions of the car. The 'clamshell' design of getting into and out of the car is taken from the Holden Hurricane but instead of using the Hurricanes hydraulic lifting of the exterior panels to allow access for the driver and passenger compartment it is instead a front hinged clam shell design like how the Ferrari F40 front bumper, hood / bonnet and fenders lift as well as other cars that sport a front hinging clamshell design including some Lemans and prototype race cars. The Quadra R-7's with the seemingly ridiculously large rear wings are actually an ode to the Plymouth Superbird and how it had a very high rear wing / spoiler to help keep the rear of the car planted on the road at higher speeds. But if you notice the ones on the Quadra's have the downforce generaged by the wing centered right over the rear wheels of the car which is where you ideally want the downforce to be generaged to make the rear wheels 'push' into the road to increase handling and grip of the tires. And that's all I got for now and hope dear reader that I inspired you to look up some of these real world cars and see how they could have been inspiration for the cars in Cyberpunk.

My favorites are the Outlaw Weiler and the Riptide Terrier. - The Weiler captures the spy-thriller theme of the DLC very well both functionally and aesthetically. Perfect for those who want to RP as a gentleman assassin or agent - Riptide Terrier is a both a tribute and homage of the 80s where the retro and cyber aesthetic combine to make a beautiful concept, as shown in Syd Mead's works and the Aston Martin Bulldog, to which it is its IRL counterpart. Perfect for those who want to get in the feel of the retrowave vibes

This is an interesting list. I play in VR so first person view perspectives were nice to hear. RIptide is my personal top choice from the PL cars. Visibility in VR is so cool. Similar to the rayfield, but..I dunno...it's just cooler cause it's actual glass I guess

I agree with your list _except_ for #1 and #2. Wingate's tires can be easily popped during intense firefights with police, making getaways a LOT harder. Unpoppable tires are *amazing* in this game as losing even a single tire will ruin your turning ability at anything above 50mph. Considering that the only other Phantom Liberty vehicle with unpoppable tires is the Hellhound, and... yeah. As much as I love taking the Hellhound on Claire's races, for driving around Night City in style while running from cops and MaxTac, nothing can beat the Outlaw Weiler! You can also get the Weiler relatively early on in Act 2 if you beeline the Evelyn/VDB quests to open up Dogtown and starting Muamar's car boosting sidequests. IIRC I had to boost 5 cars before the Weiler quest (Baby Let Me Take You) appeared for me. Starting Muamar's car quests ASAP is even better because you get the discount coupon for each job done.

The Herrera Outlaw "Weiler" is the perfect vehicle for my second 2.0 Character. An all black wearing, shotguns and pistols, Cyber-cowboy, with mono wire whips. The outlaw build.

I adore the standard Herrera Outlaw and I just bought Phantom Liberty at the weekend, so super excited to know I can get the Weiler variant from Reyes. Need to get on that stat.

I have to say, I keep coming back to the hoseki when I drive. I just love how it handles and drifts around corners. It essentially handles like a bike, but in car form.

The Herman's description about Muamar saying it's for carry rugs implies that it was meant to carry dead bodies rolled up inside of those rugs. It also looks not dissimilar to a hearse, what with the absolutely massive boot space.

Nice tier list! My favourite without a doubt has been the Terrier, but I'm biased because it seems to be heavily influenced by the iconic Lamborghini Countach's design.

I have a few I like. The Charon is cool with the fire effect and the mission to get it is fun. But for actually driving I love both the new Herrera's, the Weiler and the Terrier. I liked the OG Outlaw and the Weiler is just a straight improvement, and the design of the Riptide is amazing. And fun fact, if you scan the Terrier you can read that it's apparently one of only 10 of this special edition Riptide in the entire world. Of course that's just a bit of flavor but it's still pretty cool. And honorable mention to the Hellhound. It's not very fast buy it's very fun to just drive comoletely offroad in the badlands between scanner assaults and only leaving the car to pick up your loot after the massacre.

The Trailbruiser shouldn't be as much fun as it is. I think it's just how it looks, which is bad ass or maybe how it handles off-road.

Oh nice adding the 1st person visibility, I started the game recently and on a whim decided to drive from 1st person and now I just can't go back, I don't know what it is about first person but it makes the driving more enjoyable (it sure isn't because I like driving in real life because I do not) even if it's not as easy as 3rd person. Also nice for the acceleration, that's a good stat to have.

The Hozuki Hoseki was one of my favorite cars to drive just because of its design and sound

The driving in this game is beyond anything I've ever experienced, especially on the PS5. Really like how every car accelerates, you can feel the weight of the Alverado.

FYI the Terreria is a homogeny of an Italdesign Aztec and Vector W8. Both late 80s supercars. The Aztec has the pop-bonnet door and the body is somewhat derived from the Vector.

I've really enjoyed the weiler, though it loses some points on design over the outlaw. I really like that transparent purple back. Very fun car.

I love the Locust. It's nimbleness let me take on Maxtac until I found a way out. After that, the speed and off-road abilities let me escape.

The Wailer is my #1 choice without a doubt. It's fast, it has guns, and it handles great. Not sure what else I could want in a CP 2077 car tbh. Very much looking forward to your thoughts on bikes tho. There is no better way to travel imho...

My recipe for enjoyable driving is using a controller, the better vehicle camera "cockpit-mod" and the one that totally overhauls lighting, so you wont go blind at 5pm (and all through the day in certain areas) from just glancing through the windshields in first person haha Sadly 2.02 broke those mods both of course, so i guess im not playing until those moddergods come around to updating them. 🤙

Hoon and Herrera were my go to game during the whole DLC. Loved the handling

Outlaw was my go to favorite car in standard cyberpunk so when i got the wailer as a reward i was so happy.

Type-66 for me. I prefer the understated paintjob of the Javelina to the racing livery of the Wingate but another Type-66 is another Type-66. 😂 But Herrera made an amazing showing. The Riptide and the Weiler are both amazing. There are too many awesome cars for my rotation.

just so you know : The Quadra Turbo R740 is a Ferrari Testarossa reference. The rival of the Testarossa back then was the Lamborghini Countach, and that's what the Riptide Terrier is a reference to. So, "mix between a DeLorean and a Ferrari"... you weren't far !

Ive been playing Cyberpunk in VR, so bringing up the first person driving up really helps.

That whole on the Colby Barghest that you said was for a companion isn't just for that. It's for a pintle mounted weapon. If you look at the ring, there are ratchet style gears right below the top part of it, so the pintle mounted weapon (usually a M2, M240 or a Mk 19 Grenade Launcher is mounted on those in the real US Military) can easily spin around so you can fire it 360 degrees around the vehicle. It also used for a prank/hazing, to mess with a FNG (that's Fucking New Guy) by telling them to spin the pintle a bunch of times to make sure it works right.

Love that Archer reference fav show for me personally just hits a sweet spot for me.

Caliburn Murkmobile FTW, I am almost never in the badlands for anything. No car can take corners like it and a top speed of 210mph. But it does have a huge downside, with it's slide open doors. It seems to be bugged and doesn't let you shoot out of it at all. Which is fine by me, I prefer combat 1 v 50 instead of in my car. Great vid tho, thanks much for putting it together. The Wingate is my second and only car I use for when I do happen to be in the badlands. :)

excellent tier list that I full agree with. Vulture is my favorite for vehicular combat, Weiler for everything else. wide gun configuration is absolutely useless for car combat, so any vehicle with the narrow config may qualify for a higher tier.

Looks like the sport R7s were based on the 1968-1970 Charger/Daytona/Super Bee muscle cars. The Type 66 looks based off of the 1970-1974 Plymouth Cuda crossed with the fastback mustang, especially the Hemi "Shaker" scoop.

as a roleplay focused player, the Free cars have all been amazing (especially sleek "outlaw" type cars that spoke to my Corpo Heart). the only gap was in fact a -stocky -weaponized vehicle -for lumbering around Dogtown and said "fcking try me". Could not get that mattress to give me the monster truck so i bought a Hellhound for that

I love the detail that the hell hound has airless tires, so it makes sense that they're unpopable.

I never thought that a Mahir Supron variant could be this good. I love the Trailbruiser more than most of the basegame vehicles.

The Riptide is like a DeLorean crossed with a Ford GT40. You can even find NPC GT2s with Le Mans colours in the game world.

The Sidewinder goes way lower because its wheels are made of Teflon. For the (actual) S tier cars (Badlands-capable rocket cars able to do everything in the game) I think it's a tossup between the Samum and the Locust. Galena Locust is more nimble, Shion Samum is more sturdy.

I'm personally a massive fan of the Trail Bruiser because I think it is the closest thing Cyberpunk 2077 has to a military MRAP/MATV/PV/RPV/APC; essentially armoured light trucks designed to quickly transport a fireteam, which suits my paramilitary interpretation of V nicely. My other favourite vehicle for that role is the Behemoth, which I own via mods. As far as civilian vehicles go, the base game's Butte (specifically the orange one with gold wheels you find out in the badlands), and the Terrier are my favs.

Riptide is my favorite car in the PL. I hope for the next Cyberpunk game, like you said, we get to customize our vehicles.

The Weiler is unmatched IMO. Followed closely by the Coyote.

I might be spitballing, but with the name Gerorga Barberis, the paint job and red interior on the Sport R-7 Chiaroscuro and the Vigilante's name I think was all meant to be a reference to George Barris and the Batmobile that he made for the orginal TV show. Clearly some stuff got jumbled around, but it's what jumped to my mind.

Unpopular opinion: Driving slowly in Night City feels more immersive than treating it like GTA

My favorite vehicle from PL is the Mizutani Hozuki Hoseki, the name is a mouthful, but the sheer sound of the vehicle is the best in the game imo. I drive it everywhere with the radio off just to hear the turbo blowoff and the classic stustustustustu sound

My favorite vehicle in this expansion would be always Hellhound but as a Nomad V there was always this Nomad car that I wanted and that would be Quartz Sidewinder this car always existed in the game but for some reason it was not purchasable but now it is this vehicle is great it is a smooth car and a small body and good at outlands and the body shape just perfection this vehicle can make Panam a bit jealous

Before i watch my fav is the nomad quadra, i forgot the name of it but the one with machine guns on the side, shit is so good and fast and tanky it has pretty much everything you need in a car in this game, also easy to handle while being super fast and works well offroad too.. javelina is what its called

For the city races, the Weiler for me. I blow up 3 competitors within seconds and other than the tanky SUV, can coast to a win most times. Use the discounts to buy everything else.

Hellhound and blindness. I was fine on interior for that. For me though, the Mule? (think was the nomad thorton truck) gets the blinding issue like that.

Even if the Wingate is great, i still prefer the Javelina in terms of style. While the Wingate has more a "racing car turned into a tank" feeling, the Javelina is a tank made for racing. ...and my nomad V was fitting with the Javelina in terms of colors so I could not seperate them. So yeah i'm quite biased x)

My favorite is the hellhound yes it's slow and big like tank but having missiles and guns is icing on the cake

The houseki is probably my favorite car right now. It just has this kinda underground tuner car vibe that makes it fun to drive around. The only other car that puts it to shame in that regard is the shion Mz2 Targa. Convertible mz2? Sign me up
