Sonic Adventure 2 (Japanese: ソニックアドベンチャー2 Hepburn: Sonikku Adobenchā Tsū?) is a platform video game developed by Sonic Team USA and published by Sega for the Dreamcast console and the last Sonic game to be released for a Sega console and is a sequel to 1998's Sonic Adventure. It was released in North America, Europe, and Japan in June 2001 to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Sonic the Hedgehog series. The game was ported to the Nintendo GameCube and re-titled Sonic Adventure 2 Battle (ソニックアドベンチャー2 バトル Sonikku Adobenchā Tsū Batoru?), with brand-new features as well as minor changes in the level design. The original game and content from Battle was released in high-definition on PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade in October 2012. A version for Microsoft Windows was released in November 2012.
The game takes place after the events of its predecessing game: Sonic Adventure. The series antagonist Doctor Eggman releases Shadow the Hedgehog, who joins Eggman and treasure hunter Rouge the Bat to steal the seven Chaos Emeralds. The game's story focuses on the protagonists Sonic the Hedgehog, Knuckles the Echidna and Miles "Tails" Prower as they attempt to stop Eggman and Shadow from collecting the Chaos Emeralds.

@@marcussensabaugh1505 I believe that Rouge's rather skimpy alternate costume in multiplayer is also based on the default HUnewearl in PSO (known officially as Sue and present on the game's box art).

Interesting that to get a Sonic Chao you have to go Neutral Run Run. If you make a Hero Run Run, it looks nothing like Sonic. Wonder if they meant anything by that

Probably an oversight considering it'd break the overall style the hero Chao. The shadow Chao works as a dark type since its style blends in well with it's dark counterparts.

@@pouglas2714 this comment has bugged me for a while. they decided what every chao looked like, they made the game and all the chaos in it. they could have made the hero chao theme work so that they were all blue, a color associated with the sky/heavens. or they could have made hero run run chaos look like Sonic regardless of the clashing styles as an easter egg or whatever. anyways sorry if this is grumpy, hope you’re doing well

Here's some more character chao: Rouge Chao = White Dark Fly/Run Chaos 0 = Aquamarine Neutral Chaos Chao Super Sonic = Shiny Yellow Neutral Run/Power Tikal = Orange Knuckles Chao Classic Sonic = Neutral Run/Normal

Dark/Fly/Fly-Power looks more Rouge-like imo. The "ears" are more pointed, and unlike Dark/Fly/Fly, where they're going outward, they are in an upwards direction

You forgot to mention the special disk for Amy and knuckles. It came out in a special magazine in Japan, it’s like a demo disk and it had a little SA2 gift being those two chao. I actually found one on buyee and ordered it, going to try to get them legitimately!

Knuckles Chao & Amy Chao can't be transferred to an American copy of SADX/SA2. You'll need Japanese copy of SADX/SA2.

I just got the Extended garden mod recently, I had no idea they added a way of getting the other character chao! I'll definitely have to try and get my hands on a Tails chao now,, really glad I found your channel, these videos are very helpful

@@yupthatsme3977 You have to use mods to get a tails chao. If you have the pc steam copy you can download the chao world extended mod or use a chao editor.

I used to have a lot of fun with these chaos in Sonic Adventure 2 Battle for the GameCube. But do to a situation I've been in, I lost everything and it's been years!! But now since I got the Oculus Quest 2 and VRCHAT, you actually get to BE inside the chao garden, which is amazing!!

If you use Cream's tag action in Sonic Advance 3 Cheese will transform into the Chao version of the character in the lead allowing them to perform the Chao attack from Sonic Advance 2 for a while until Cheese goes back to his old self making this another way of having Chao Sonic/Tails/Knuckles/Amy accessable

At least one of the memory cards we had with SA2 on it actually had a Tails Chao on it, so my brothers must've gotten it at some point, as we had both SA2B and PSO on the GameCube, in addition to a GBA to hook it up to. Obtaining one legitimately definitely requires quite a bit of effort and equipment.

Have you heard of the much better pc port of this game through the mod which brings back the good things about the Dreamcast originals but also keeps some of the good things about the GameCube version?

I believe it is Chao World Extended that you are talking about and I actually have that mod installed in this video and my chao garden series. You can't really see it much in this video but in our main series we are actually using the dreamcast gardens in the HD release of the game and even have a couple shiny two tone chao.

The unofficial PSO servers that are still up and running should figure out a way to interface with the Steam version of SA2 so that people who don't have a GameCube can still get the Tails Chao without mods or hacks.

I thought you could raise a chao with knuckles and rouge and feed them nothing but red and purple viles with no animals and keep them away from swimming. I remember there use to be a list on how to raise chao raising and you would get a knuckles look alike

Hi! I'm a little confused on how to get a character chao. How do you make it a certain type if you aren't able to give them extra animals and/or chaos drives? Edit: I should've clarified a little more... When I said character chao, I meant Amy, Tails, and Knuckles.

Chao World Extended allows the character chao to still get chaos drives without it messing up the process like it would with no mods.

Question, will the Shadow chao's stripes be the right color with a normal egg or do I need a red one? I can't remember exactly because Im trying to recall information from over 15 years ago but um... it seemed like my chaos stripes came out like a blueish teal color unless it was because he was young and was gonna color change once he got older

Just after 2 reincarnations. I believe you have to have a code within the mod enabled for the character chao/chaos chao conversion to work

The question i got, now is when the first evolution happens how many levels do u need to lvl to make sure the second evolution is enough to get the form. For example if u wanna do a sonic chao and he evolves once how many more run levels do u need to make him sonic?

So I have SA2B. How the heck do I get a sun/moon chao?? And are invisible/transparent chaos rare?? And what are the rarest chaos?? I know a lot of question I’m sorry lol

Moon Chao are only available through mods currently, they used to be downloadable on the dreamcast version (i'm not sure what a sun chao is). The invisible chao are actually shiny jewel chao, so you can get one by breeding a jewel chao with a shiny chao.

See 3:14 Essentially for Tails (in the mod) after the 2 reincarnation give it one of every animal and boost its fly stat while keeping it balanced morality wise (try not to pet too much with hero or dark otherwise it will be a Hero or Dark Chaos Chao)

That's a basic shadow chao. As it ages and you continue to raise run, it will look more like shadow and turn red

I hope someone can answer this because I’m trying to get a shadow chao but after unlocked hero and dark garden I got the chao I got from the dark garden when you first go in then I made it dark stayed with it in the garden for a while after I gave it green chaos drives until level 8 run it evolved and I gave it lots of chaos drives and it’s at level 30 run rn and it’s age is 2 and I was wondering if I needed to give it more green chaos drives and green animals or wait in the chao garden until it grows older and older until it turns into shadow

You likely will have to wait longer for your chao to turn red and look more like shadow. I hope this helps!
