ALL CHARACTERS RANKED BEST TO WORST - JANUARY 2024 | Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes 

Rankings are always a good video and charts are even better. It shows what's changed, what has stayed the same, and what isn't worth investing in. Individual character rankings show if a character is worth investing more than the bare minimum for team comp into the character. Sure team comp will always beat out, but if the character can be useful elsewhere, then that is worth investing in. Sometimes a lone character with a good kit can clear something. Either way, worth making more of these, but maybe every year or at most every 6 months.

I personally find team rankings more valuable than individual characters, maybe showcase what makes a team work and then what can be swapped out. I also really appreciate when you make graphics that showcase if it's an offensive or defensive team, it genuinely helps me plan out my roster as I def want more defensive teams for gac

I also love how palpatine, such an old legend character has been around for so long and such a cornerstone character!I wish we had more events like his that didn't require high relics and we could theory craft to try to unlock that legend at the bare minimum.

I really like the rankings, so I'd want them to continue for sure! I'm looking forward to playing SWGOH and watching your vids all through 2024!

Just came back to this game last week after a long long hiatus and I definitely need the refresher, already used your beginner guide to get started on some teams so this definitely helps.

The video I have always wanted you to make is a gamemode specific squad tab with unique on. In other words, for each gamemode, you would make a custom squad tab with unique on and put every character in their "optimal" spot. The team ranking is extremely helpful but since some characters are used more than once, I don't know a teams full viability since I am using a different lineup. For instance, the resistance hero bros are slotted in the Rey and Zorri teams on the graphic, so I am not sure where to use them or what to use them in their place.

I love the ranking videos! It's a great visual guide for helping me decide which characters/squads I want to go for. Thanks for putting this together!

Great way to start the year off!!

Coming off of the new character rankings for 2023, I do think that maintaining some form of character ranking is useful, especially for players earlier in the game. However, it might be useful to consider something a little "simpler". When I look at these charts, what I am really wanting to know is, "should I invest in and/or farm ______ character?" I think the categories could be changed to reflect relative importance on toons in the broader context of the game. For example, categories like: Critical, Essential, Useful, Conditional, and Useless

Here's another idea how you can revamp this review: Have it be The Best to Worst *PER-FACTION* characters. This way, people can figure out who's the best in a faction and it'd be easier (maybe) to rank them.

Make this video every January if you want, but personally I don't mind this video being a yearly tradition to start the year. Also you can showcase mostly those that MOVE rankings rather than every single one. Do honorable mentions for those that haven't changed rank.

@Ahnaldt101 As the lead prequel fan for the kyber Empire, I really think that Prequel characters will be getting a huge boost in viability! I think while these videos are helpful I don’t necessarily watch these videos for strategic input. I watch for fun! So if you’re worried about the massive need for roster assistance I don’t think that’s why most people watch. We just have a great time listening to you describe how the characters we’ve geared up (or are looking forward to gearing up) compare to others. Thanks always for the content!

As a new player - it’s nice to get guidance, especially ftp. I imagine I will spend some but even then it’s gotta be smart spend. I can see why team rankings are so important, but where do I focus early on when there is so much to build up? And what about a character being important because of their ship? Lots to learn - will take any guidance I can.

Whatever swgoh content the grand admiral Ahnald enjoys making is good enough for me. If you enjoy this type of video, then yes. I do find it interesting to get your insight on each player, but please keep making content you enjoy and I will watch! Happy New Year.

To leech off an idea from another comment I saw, I like the idea of turning this characters ranked video into a character ranking of who benefits from extra relics. So renaming the categories based on relic level, and placing characters in them based on how high they can go. For example savage. He does pretty well at a min of say r3. But if you take him to like r7, it’s still a great investment. So he would go in the r7 category with maybe a (+4) note signifying the soft minimum of r3. (Probably works better for journey guide reqs but you get my drift).

Many things change, some things stay the same; some get pushed up, while other gets pushed further and further down. All these fluctuations can be hard to keep up with as new things are added/changed. That's why we come to Ahnald (and others) for all the info you need. Keep being awesome. 💪😎

I think that Individual character rankings will always have a place in a game like Galaxy of Heroes where no player is expected to have every character invested in and every roster looks a little different. Especially with CG's trend of giving us faction lifter units (Kelleran Beq, Iden, Piett, 50R-T, Zorrii, GL Leia, captain rex, etc...) They can often form teams on their own with a lot of room to switch in and out the 4th and 5th member. Often times there are too many team variations to have them all in the team spreadsheet but it can help players to decide how many kyros they want to invest into non-meta characters to fill out their teams when the ideal characters might not be on a cantina node or accelerated yet. Besides that 3v3 tends to have a lot of wacky teams that let individual character strength shine a little more. Finally it's just fun to rank characters regardless of how accurate we can get. It encourages discussion and lets people highlight their darling characters strengths who has been shafted into bronzium for the 3rd year in a row.

I think something to spice up the character rank video is to make it more of a “recap” video. Basically make it twice a year (start of year and like midway through the year) and discuss what’s changed on the character side and on ship side of things, what’s new, what’s come since the last video, and basically what the state of the game looks like from a character perspective. Basically make it an Ahnald State of the Galaxy video.

I find more value in the team rankings and would like to see this as well as 3v3. The other thing I could use some help with is unique only teams. For example Unmasked Kylo Ren is used in 2 top teams. If I'm using him with SLKR who should replace him on the UFU team? If I'm using RHF and RHP on my Rey team, who should replace them on the Zori Resistance team? I know it's a lot of work and that's why I make sure to watch and like every video you do.

A ranking of new characters, characters that had a renaissance(with a rework or a new team) and characters that deserve a spotlight might be more practical than ranking every character. Enjoyed the vid as always though!

I think you should combine the two. Rank teams from best to worst, as well as characters and optional substitutions within each team.

I think you should still do the character ranking, it’s useful, but I agree teams have gotten more important. Maybe consider updating it when you do the end of year character review or new team ranking. Basically, update this when teams update, and just focus on the changes, is a character more or less viable, do new omicrons and zetas make a difference. Like with your mention of Gar Saxon, in the last two years have there been any changes for a character’s viability? More of that, just highlight the changes.

I think the real value of this is seeing which characters might be the power houses of their teams. That’s something that could easily be shifted into the teams ranked though. Something like a priority of importance?

Love this format, sure the team builds are more helpful, this is more fun with more comedy gold, I think you can simplify this a bit and just burn through them, 10 secs each no spreadsheet on this one needed. Refer them to your awesome team one.

I'd honestly almost throw a +4 on ISC and Gar. Taking down GAS with almost no investment(no zetas, no high relics needed) is pretty insane.

I think for new players this definitely can be useful. So they know who to invest in for the long run. And they don’t fall for the Rogue One bait in Bohdi.

I believe character individuality is much more important for characters in the journey guide because you usually have to put in a lot of resources for them and it’s good to know which ones are the most valuable at the moment. Things like JKR or C-3PO might get overlooked by some new players because they are old and don’t need relics but they have been vital to a bunch of teams since they released. Starkiller and Aphra gets overlooked because a lot of people don’t know who they are and don’t know how much they are missing out on. Maybe journey guide rankings are better?

I personally find the team stuff more interesting and useful. But these individual character tier list can still be helpful for newer players who dont really have a grasp on meta or viable units. Either way ill be watching lol

I always find value in stuff like this. Yes, it's a team game, but I need to know what characters are the ones that are making the teams better. I think they call them "lifters" these days. That's the list I need.

I think team comp is more useful. You could do "Top 24 teams for 2024." And every year add a new team.

I like ranking videos, but I think the individual ones are not needed. Like you said, teams are where it is, as there's no solo character content. I'd just focus on 5v5, 3v3, and ship comp rankings.

I remember looking at the kits for both mace windu and GK and seeing that windu was superior; but every outlet said it was GK. Was one of the few times I saw something before really anybody else. Unfortunately windu ship is still inferior but I’ve got ages until the negotiator is unlocked so looks like my GK journey is doa for now
