Berts final transformation gives me chills no matter how many times i see it. That somber shift in his tone followed by the massive explosion and the fear from team hange is just perfect.
@@kintamas4425 Is the EREN FOUNDING TITAN the same thing as the nukes? since he pretty much does the biggest titan shift lightning strike to exist blows up the walls releases the wall titans and then destroys everything
@@viletoxxie agree I miss bertholdt 😭😭😭 I never hated the warriors because I always feel like they were forced also my family member my ancestors was a child soldiers so no wonder why I always feel like the warriors is not the emimes the only character I hate is king frits for what he did to founder ymir
@@themollymachine Mappa is a great studio. You can see it's work in animes like Jujutsu Kaisen and Chainsaw Man. But Attack on Titan just looked better in WIT's art style. Mappa is great tho but WIT just looked better that's what I'm tryna say. No hate for MAPPA, they're really hard working and skilled.
Beast: “I can be any animal based on whoever I’m attached to” Armor: “I’m nearly invincible” Warhammer: “I can make any weapon imaginable” Jaw: “I’m a nutcracker” Cart: “I’m a giant horsey”
@@soysource3218 I think it's more than that, the memories they inherited from their predecessors played a vital role too. Also, have you noticed the interactions between Jaw Titan & Armor Titan? Marcel, Ymir, Porco & Falco, all have Reiner back and saved his life at least once. Maybe the first shifter of Jaw & Armor had a bond so strong, it runs deep through their successors & influenced them subconsciously.
@@taqwadynamicisn’t also drag and air resistance a thing? And ODM has can propel people 40 MPH And can stop someone from free fall. They could have done something.
That implies it's just 15 tons of tnt, which isn't anywhere near enough to vaporize tens of thousands of tons of water, scorch the ground and send battleships flying like toys as armins transformation did.
@@ЕгорТен-г2э yeah, but that doesn't really matter to what the comment said. Armins transformation at the port did WAY more damage than a first generation nuke would've.
@@ЕгорТен-г2э yes, but the story requirements in this case are important. Armins goal was to destroy the entire fleet in the harbor, which he did. Looking at the shot shortly before his transformation, and knowing those pre dreadnought battleships are about 130-150 meters long, it looks like the port, and with it several of the ships, are about 600 meters away, maybe a bit more. Compare that to the nuclear test crossroad able, where an early generation nuclear weapon failed to destroy several ships within that radius.
@@Hi09251 the technology was increased dramatically because of the titans, its said in the show. It takes place in 850 but the technology is about 1900s
According to their calender its Year 858 (dont know on which basis they follow calender) but it seems in Season 4 by seeing all that battleship and stuff it should be around 1930 - 1940
@@ludvig7473 I mean seeing that it's a tallest titan that can just trample anything and survive artillery I'd say it's pretty effective even without the explosions, plus idk if it counts but wall titans? Rumbling? Yeah
Bertholdt's transformation is stronger imo & here's why: He can control it better than Armin. First off, he didn't unleash his entire nuke whilst he transformed near the Shiganshina gate and the Trost gate. In Season 3 Pt 2 during the mission to recapture wall Maria, he controlled it to avoid Reiner (I think) and Eren from getting destroyed. Whereas, Armin only meant to destroy the ships but wasn't able to control the nuke well enough. So in theory, his controlled transformation can hypothetically rival Armin's full power.
in season 3 part 2 he literally didnt hold anything back, he was prepared to kill reiner, as he said him to lie backwards or prepare for the worst, and he also said he would have liked to blow every scout present there , but he couldnt due to his range
Bertholdt was always the better colossal titan since he was trained to be a shifter. 3rd ranked combat skills among the 104th cadets. just lacked drive and held back allot. Imagine if bertholdt really let loose I wish we saw that
@@Nuggetboy2811 He also wouldn't be a good colossal if he wasn't so timid. With it being basically the most powerful titan (ignore founder) the user has to be someone with a ton of restraint, not someone who would pop it at the first sight of danger. This is helpful for 2 reasons. 1: it allows them to control the size of their explosion better, rather than always nuking the whole continent. 2: (though this one is more a bonus for marley) it makes them easier to control. You wouldn't want to turn someone like eren into a living warhead. You'd need someone timid like armin or bertholt who would only use it as a last resort, and would know to restrain themselves from releasing it's full power. Lets be real, if someone like eren had the colossal, he'd exhaust the full heat capacity in the initial explosion and be a skeleton saying "tatakae tatakae" as he anihilates the entirety of paradise island in a single blow (I don't think this colossal is actually capable of deleting an entire island but you get the point.) in the fight vs annie.
@@NachtAsilenah, the only way to transform is to cut, stab, or bite your finger, so if your in that universe and Burrito gets a papercut, it would be a small one, but Armin? Dang the village you live in is going to be a crater.
@@MiguelPart2 any wound that draws blood can be used to cause a transformation. I said nothing would happen because Bert would need a reason to transform, and I'm positive that he wouldn't waste his transformation on a paper cut.
Must drain all of Armins energy using the colossal ability, surely the holder must overheat, or Armin isn’t used to using the colossal, maybe it haunts him having to.
I remember in season 3 when bertholt transformed it actually scared me to see the situation the main cast was in even though I knew there was another season right after
Attack titan: I can see your past Female Titan: Im female Armourded titan: Im really bulky Beast titan: Animal Cart titan: Big horse Collosal titan: *H I R O S H I M A*
I don't think enough attention was given to the sheer destrustion Armin caused in the harbour. Look at just how much land he vaporized. It's enough to have left me awe-struck and horrified when I first saw it. I feel as though it's glossed over just how much he destroyed
I still cant believe how i got tricked into thinking "this guy? This one big bad nukin' buildings and shit, yeah he's definitely the final boss". Praising him, saying how powerful he is to my friends. The embarrassment...
The colossal titan has an immense amount of downsides and a very long cooldown before being able to be used again. Most of the time when the colossal titan could have been useful Armin was in a situation where he couldn't use it or had allies that were too close, meaning if he transformed they would have been killed. The Titan is a powerful asset but only when used correctly otherwise it becomes a detriment to its own allies.
@@unreadypath6883 ik its my fav titan shifter that's why I just more of the colossal but yes shifting to it is like a nuc and can't be used everywhere but still......
I believe that the Colossal Titan has 2 ways of appearing, the first is normal and the other is to appear with an explosion. When it appears unexploded it can move immediately and when it explodes it stays still
Not really it just looked like that let me do a little physics chemistry lesson for you Some nukes detonate mid air to maximise damage aka airbursts airburst have weaker radiation and no crater but have a stronger blas than ever nukes that explode on the ground are weaker
I always go back to when Armin first woke up after eating Berthold and saw that one half of the Colossal face crying, which then comes true when Armin sees Berthold crying in the Paths. The whole situation comes full circle. Also, the rage Porco had when he realizes that, not only did the people on Paradis steal the Colossal powers, they also killed Berthold. I get the impression that Porco and Pieck thought that Berthold was just held captive. Now they knew for sure that their comrade was never coming home
Bertoldt was killed after they retreated. So obviously they didn't knew that he was eaten afterward. Even worse, there was now a potential that even Annie didn't make it.
People keep trying to say its a nuke. I know for some its hyperbole but many are saying it literally. This is not even close to nukes, we talking 1000s of times difference. Its just a large bomb
I bet Armin's is the biggest nuke colossal titan, that's because he thinks pretty cleverly and technically, he must've been able to control how he detonates and contains it for a while before releasing it altogether, I can say that because he detonates two times, one for containment and then release, that's a big water he managed to vaporize and even made battleships go up the air
bertholt spent years of his life training as the colossal titan holder, armin is just a very high iq guy who inherited it and is just winging it, bertholt 100% was more knowledgable and experienced as the colossus titan. water amplifies all explosions which may give the illusion armin's transformation was more powerful, but in reality it was no stronger than bertholt's transformaiton in season 3 episode 2.
Canonically, Bertholdt was skilled enough at using the Colossal Titan that he could actively choose not to trigger the kaboom. Armin, notably, can't do that.
