If they'll ever make "Tales of the clones" or something, it's a nice opportunity to make Scorch a protagonist and show how exactly he changed. And survived the fall, of course. We all know how lethal fall damage in Star Wars, plus Gregor was shot the same armor spots in S1 and Survived.
Unfortunately falling into abyss's is only fatal for villains in disney star wars, and since Scorch was a villain in this show (a rather empty blank canvas one at that) i dont think he will be returning.
He was a hero once. This only proves how far even the best of Clones, the best of men could have fallen. I do have hope Boss and maybe Fixer were somehow able to resist.
About 14 years later and we still have no idea what happened to the Zillo Beast or why Palpatine wanted it. It shows up in Bad Batch for 2 episodes and then disappears again. I refuse to believe that this was always the plan. The writers have to have had something in mind for it, but then the show was cancelled prematurely. Bad Batch season 2 ended on a note that suggested that the real story was just beginning. I thought we would get many more seasons, and the show would just keep getting better and better. Hemlock was introduced as this big character, but he never really did anything.
Although it was Disney and particularly Filoni's decision, Scorch's presence in the Bad Batch is regarded as controversial. I know that he is the fan favorite clone commando that they wish him to defect, but he is the fanatical and remained loyal to Hemlock and the Empire to the end and like most other commandos, he is not easy to desert like Gregor and Scorch's death got understandably fans upset. Another thing that upset some fans that he has cold personality unlike the game counterpart where he displayed his sense of humor. However, in my honest opinion is I like the change of his personality from wisecracker (if he has one in canon) to cold and obedient soldier either because of Sev's MIA (maybe or maybe not) and this inhibitor chip and I accept the fact that Scorch is truly dead, but his death bothered me for several factors; 1. It was too easy, 2. he did not have deflector shield, and 3, if I see correctly, in real life, soldiers usually take position around the perimeter to look out for the enemy if they are trying to shoot it down during the helicopter extraction, but here, Scorch do not do that by watching their back, 4. have him fall down after getting shot and instead he should just lay on the floor, making fans speculate that he is alive. Besides, if Filoni truly wanted him alive, I wouldn't write about him falling make a different scenario. Another thing I wanted to point out that Scorch never display his demolition expertise, neither use IEDs nor grenade launcher of his DC-17 rifle. His reassignment as Hemlock's right hand man and bodyguard wasted his talent. For people who do not like Scorch to be here, I feel Fixer should be more suitable for he has cold and gruff personality who believes in following orders from Boss and the Clone advisor as shown in game and never refuse them (not counting on the in-game mechanic issues such as refuse to get on the turret because there's a proximity mine a way, for example) and do the job by the book.
Could be a case of that the Inhibitor chip was still quite active. That.... perhaps his lack of caution at times was the real Scorch below the surface, trying to die.
@@thesquirrelking6206 it's the former. It was already established that the Clone commandos became fanatically loyal to the Empire once the chips were activated upon Palpatine giving out order 66
14:15 this scene with Scorch questioning Hemlock’s orders and the shot of him when he exits the room would be so perfect to make Scorch defect against the empire, to bad he went out that way I was so sad
What we REALLY need is a “tales of the republic” series, showing where delta squad was during order 66, maybe where Howzer was, etc. As long as it isn’t as lame as tales of the empire, that is.
I really hope the rumors about the clones' story has come to end isn't true, the stories behind the clones are so vast that they could make another dozen more seasons if they'd care enough
I'd rather just not bother since cramming them into the filoni-verse and staying consistent with what they did to scorch just necessitates ruining the rest of them
None of what you see here is the real Scorch and other Clone Commandos. None of this is officially canon. Dave Filoni and Disney once again ruined another beloved SW character. Also ruined the portrayal of what Clone Commandos were really like. The last time we saw the real Scorch was in Republic Commando.
@@Alexgodofwar5662 no they didn’t lol Sev went MIA and the other three weren’t even in the show series they are listed as one of the few commando squads that did not do order 66 a bunch of commandos failed to commit treason against the Jedi
scorch is NOT beloved at all, he had no character whatsoever, no character arc, no build up, no inspiring dialogue, no direction absolutely nothing, now all of the sudden yall care about him despite the lack of character arc and very little screen time
Clone Commandos were the best soldiers in the GAR and in canon unlike Legends they seem to be far more loyal than the regular clones, so it's natural for the Empire to keep them around for longer, using them in training the TK troopers and guarding their most secretive facilities. You can argue that it is shortsightedness on the Empire's (And the writers') part but you have to remember that there are around 5,000 Clone Commandos out there during this time. So, it's very likely that these are just one division of Commandos which were given these responsibilities and that there are others out there who are probably doing moreso what they were trained to do. Squads were likely broken up in order to mitigate the risk of successful defection, so while Scorch is here, Boss and Fixer might be somewhere else doing more Commando type missions.
He could have survived the fall, the armor took the blasts otherwise whats the point of armor? Perhaps then he was left to survive or found by Tarkins forces.
Exactly, that friendlyfired commando in the base on Daro also took like 5 shots and still lived, then Hunter survived a fall from like 1 kilometer, so Scorch can survive both.
When you suffer a loss, you at first try to shut himself from it, but that does not heal you, it only distracts you. He shut himself from what happened, away from the rest of his team, which is only a reminder of the loss and with the service to newly created Empire. No more goofy, excitable Scorch, but a hollow shell who only follows orders, even protecting remorseless maniacs, until only a sweet release of death rescues him (which believing 15:24 did not happen because maybe self-preservation kicked in). In the end it was not the chip that changed Scorch for worse. He did that to himself, because unlike Bad Batch who mastered their loss of Tech, he let his own loss (if that's about Sev if canon) master him.
What bugs me is in TCW he has the correct backpack but then in TBB he has a standard commando one because he’s just a retexture of the new commando model
I was hoping he would betray the empire in the end but he stayed loyal to the Empire till his death. Scorch got what hedeserved for betraying his brothers.
@@Cardo... Palps would level Tantiss to preserve his rule It would be too much of a liability if Clone Rights Groups find out about the Imprisoned Clones
I don't think it was just pointless fan service to actually keep him in seasons 2 and 3. In season 1, it absolutely was just fan service. I think there is more to it than just that. I think the inclusion of Scorch as just the cold and loyal minion of Hemlock is to just further show the tragedy of the clones in the transition from the Republic to the Empire. Scorch, the goofy and humorous Commando that we know him to be from Star Wars: Republic Commando being reduced to how we see him in the Bad Batch is made to further represent to more diehard fans what the Empire has turned the Clones into, more specifically with the Clone Commandos.
@@Cardo...Canon has been extremely selective about the strength of said armor so we can't rely on this being the reason he survived. It was still a long fall so if the shots didn't kill him, something other commandos have died instantly to, the impact of the fall likely did
He was actually shot 5 times and the 2nd-5th shots were not in good places for your body. The entire argument Katarn armor is kinda weird because Lucasfilm can’t even decide on how strong a lightsaber is.
Bruh i would LOVE to see an Republic Commando 2 where you get to see yourself doing atrocious things for the empire after the order 66 because of the chip control
Oh wtf! No way. I didn't put that together at all. I love Republic Commando, so when Bad Batch started I was disappointed that it seemingly, finally, made the game not canon. I never had that armor in my mind nor did I think much about him throughout the series. He was just some random, no-name commander. I wish it'd be nothing more than an Easter egg because it seems so out of character and a terrible way for a cool character to go. I didn't watch Clone Wars. I never knew they brought them back briefly.
1:08 such a cool shot and with the cool music . They did Scorch dirty, at least he could've fought the Batch before his death but they decided not to do it
9:34 i hear people saying that this isnt scorch bc the directors or someone in production said “hes supposed to resemble” but this scene is where hes referred to as “commander scorch”
