I applaud the dedication it must've taken to put this together. It is a fantastic clip. Though the Stars didnt win the Cup, this clip shows they really did have a great year, one for the ages, in fact. Robertson's 17 game point streak and 109 point season, Johnston's incredible rookie year which was kind of capped off by an amazing goal in Game 7 of Round 2 vs Seattle. Hintz, Pavelski, the resurgence of Capt Jamie Benn, the acquisition of Dadonov and Domi actually working out. Benn and Johston finally found their winger. So, the Stars had a great year and it was a year that can be built on.. As much as I love your clip, what might make an even more interesting clip would be all the Stars goals allowed. We know they can score. If they could eliminate the glaringly stupid mistakes they could put up a year like Boston did, only follow through with it and win the Cup. They seriously need to be reviewing all those goals allowed and , while not pointing fingers, just say with the caveat of "Could've happened to anyone, but this is the mistake and this is how you defend it," and the whole team can benefit from the lessons of such a review. I bet you $1 Robertson and his personal video coach are doing exactly that with eery shift he played for the entire season. The rest of the team should be doing the same, especially the defenseman, not to name any names of course (but I'm looking at you #23 and #20)
Just gotta laugh at the amount of late game-tying goals that immediately cut to the next game. Easily win the West if we could play 3-on-3 somewhat decently. 😂 (Great work on all these edits, a lot of fun to rewatch this stuff leading up to the playoffs)
I remember watching the games that Stevens laid those big hits on Lindros and Bure.. I would say in todays NHL he's given more fines and games than any other player in history, but back then, both good hits in my opinion his arm was at his side and both players came across center with their heads down... playing him your head needs to be up at all times when he was on the ice especially.
DeBoer did a great job, it will be interesting to see if the old vets can keep up what they did last season and if the defense (minus Heiskanen) gets any better as they were mediocre at best. Oettinger also needs to step it up in the big games which I have faith in since he's still so young for a franchise goalie and he's shown what he can do if he gets hot and is confident
@@bosskey7212 I agree! Also Benn and Segin should be producing a lot more points and goals during the playoffs since they are by far the most overpaid players on the team.
@@Shadowwolf7774 Meh, Seguin is a shell of his former self, injuries really de-railed his career and nobody saw that coming. Benn did way more than I thought he would during the regular season and tbh I dont expect that again, he is what he is, a Power forward at the tail end of a great career. . The young pool of forwards they have coming up are going to really need to be ready soon.
Heiskanen is awesome either way but he’s in on so many of these goals on his strong side w Miller. Don’t understand the move to put him on the weak side and bump suter up to the first pair. 🤷
@@aaronbray14 agreed. Look at how many of these early goals lundkvist is in on. It’s a shame he got scratched for the entire playoffs. There are other options besides having suter on the 1st pair.
@@Joe_Ma99 Lundkvist will more than likely be an NHL'er this coming season, the issue with them is Suter can't hold his own anymore and really doesn't bring anything valuable to the roster. I hope DeBoer and Nill are willing to sit him down and tell him he's going to have to accept being a 7th d-man or allow them to trade him. Heiskanen, Harley, Bichsel, and Lundkvist are the future for this team on the backend. They really need to find another right hand d-man before the season starts
