Yesterday, I watched a video by the creator of Airwindows, and he claimed that it’s mostly limiters and clippers that often make modern music unpleasant compared to older music. I think he’s right. Just a bit too loud, just a bit too sharp, and often too much compression. It sounds more natural when the spectrum doesn't just follow a certain band.
Berry Lee Berry's debut album is going to be a very hybrid record that, like this song, doesn’t stick to reggae conventions. There are purists who won’t like that, but I think such purists are not our audience anyway.
