VC are definitely my favourite of the big 3. I could happily make a 3 watch collection just from their catalogue and never need to look at another watch for the rest of my life. Now where's that lottery ticket I bought 🤔
@@xynged Yup, that was something alright. I did 12 weeks of internship at VC back in 2004 (as part of my third and final year of WOSTEP) and currently own two GS so I don't really have a dog in this fight. Both are great manufacturers and choosing between a Omiwatari and a Patrimony would make my hair fall off.
Beautiful piece for formal. Two hands, no seconds, no date. You’re not supposed to wear a watch with black tie (it’s “rude”), but if you we so inclined, this would be it. It checks the boxes - simple, elegant, “holy trinity.” Needs a clear case back though, obviously. Sixty years ago, I might have worn it with a midnight blue barathea tux, to gamble at a casino.
Aside from one other model, all VC watches have the Geneva Seal. With this one, the movement is too small for the 40mm case and would look strange with an open caseback.
