Great video as always! A funny thing to note is that the crossed axes torso always appears in sets that include castle walls and otherwise context for guards to be in, (guarding a jail cart, escorting a random noblewoman’s cart, guarding the walls of a keep), so it’s likely that the crossed axes soldiers act as either a town guard, a militia, or generally a lower ranking soldier compared to the ones baring the lion. It’d track as to why the lion knights in the set are referred to as “Lion Knights”. Also funny thing is that for being masters of the longbow, it’s funny that the set only includes regular bows, considering that lego does a distinction between the two types.
thank you so much! I never thought about the crossed axe figures like that before! I will defiantly have to look into that! Honestly i would have loved to see lego use the long bow part in a castle set!
What a way to implement your superb castle knowledge into a set that no one would be able to correctly articulate. Great job my friend. The wolf pack nod is my fav....
The suggestion of the black falcons making some kind of peace with the lion knights makes me think that this set takes place at the chronological end of the castle timeline
My favorite is the reference the Dragon Knights, whether it is referencing the Black Knights or the Dragon Masters, I hope either or both of them make a return!
What I like about Lego castle is that you get all these figures you can do what ever you want with. BUT at the same time if you want to care about the lore you can
How come the set only has three of the four houses referenced from the classic yellow castle? No star shield. Weird. What I get from the yellow castle set is that it's a time of peace since it depicts the four houses not at war but coming together for a jousting tourney.
Boy I sure would like to see them give full attention to Classic lines, especially Castle. The Lions knight Castle got me to buy LEGO again after 25 years, I do not want to have to wait 10 years before they have finished half a line of Castle sets and at this rate it could be that or worse.... Well lets hope they have some exponential growth! To me, in terms of size, beauty, play fun for all ages and sexes, minis, theme appeal, etc... I think Lions knight castle is their best creation ever, and it could be so much better if there were more to go with it.
@@nathanmullowney1005 they are on this list. My goal is to do majisto, lion knights, the blue coats from pirates, and the black knights by the end of the summer!
Awesome video. As for the “Back in a body” reference, was the wizard in the wizard’s cart ever truly referenced as Majisto? If not, 1994 would be correct, would it not? 2:17
That is technically true. They never did actually confirm it. I do believe that is him though since he uses all the same parts and the set is part of dragon masters. So I do agree but I also wanted to provide all the information! Its kind of one of those references that its all depends on how you look at it🤣
Actually I take it back. It was confirmed to be him. Im doing research into him for my next video. In the UK he was called merlin, and in a UK magazine it calls wizards cart, "merlins Magic Box" So yeah, majisto is defiantly the wizard in wizards cart.
Really enjoyed the video thanks for sharing your knowledge of castle lore. I love the idea that the Easter eggs are references to future castle sets! I feel certain the Wolf Pack will return one day…
Lego should create a brand new faction with new colours and heraldry. It makes sense since this appears to be a new era of Lego castle/knights. We can assume that the crusaders/lion knights and black falcons survived the test of time with the whereabouts of the dragon and wolf pack knights a mystery. If Lego does a new faction I’d love to see them create a new helmet mould for them. Perhaps a sallet helmet, very medieval.
I agree! Honestly I would love some new colors like a purple added or like an orange, and a new faction animal, we have gotten tons of dragons and lions, maybe some different birds or other animals. Honestly would love to see a goat faction😂
No clue lol. I mean basil is a vampire so he is like immortal. The other old characters have probably died out by now or something like that. I couldn’t tell you ages of people. It’s a fantasy Lego world they didn’t really give us time periods. I’m just guessing my best here
@@BrickingUpBrad Well, The Wolfpack castle from Lego Ideas is in review on May 2024. So Lego is definitely interested in making a set for the Wolfpack.
As children back in the 80s, not having much of canonic background information except for the product brochures we referred to the main factions as Lionstone and Falconstone knights. Maybe inserting "stone" into the names made more sense in German. I love that the 10305 castle pays the main tribute to the earliest castle factions, but also takes a nod to later castle lines. Nevertheless, I wouldn´t mind seeing another faction included in upcoming sets like Wolfpack or Dragon Knights of some sort.
There is a rumored majisto GWP coming out which I can see as a great way for them to bring back dragon masters. Also there is a rumored Medieval village which would be a great way to bring back the wolf pack because of the reference to them in this set! With all that to say I hope we do get more factions revamped or even more factions in general! Honestly I just want more castle lol😂
