Noah Baker, an 18 year old highschooler experiences unsettling occurrences while house-sitting for a media personality, little did he know what was about to unfold that night. Fears to Fathom is an episodic psychological horror game where each episode unveils a short story narrated by the ones who survived. Whether this story is actually real or not, it absolutely can happen. I did meth a loooong time ago and while I didn't lose my mind like some, I watched a lot of ppl just go crazy from not eating or sleeping. They can become feral and delusional and it is genuinely terrifying how quick they can turn on you. Stay safe out there ppl, and stay away from meth 😬

@@IridosGaming I did see a comment on jacksepticeye vid from someone who worked with the dev and they said they aren't necessarily real because they are user submitted and then altered to fit a game format but anyone can submit a story to the email and have a chance at making it in the game so that's cool.

I remember the first one that came out it said that the stories were coming from Reddit at the time! I am not sure which subreddit but I would guess the Nosleep one but now they must be taking stories as well which is actually genius when you think about it for coming up with stories for games!

@@AshChiCupcak I feel like all these situations CAN be real since these things have happened irl before. Though it’s obvious they’d need to add more to the story to be able to get good gameplay. Also the fact that any real stories told by this- wouldn’t explain every single detail and action so they’d need to add details to set the scene up. It’s also some from Reddit, which can be true or not

@@chiomorii Being as they are user submitted stories, I get they probably don't have all the nuance of a more realistic situation but they do a great job of capturing the fear of a situation. I only commented on this last story because it's something ive had experience in that I hope not a lot of others have. I'm actually really excited to see what their next story will be since each one has been better than the last. I am hoping it's not another home invasion story though since they did kinda do 2 already.

I usually don't get scared of anything but I shook after the first jumpscare. Plus, the panic sound effect is so disturbing when she starts walking towards you. Great game design, I like it.

It's weird that the game is ending even if you confront Cara straight after the power runs out, when she's hiding behind the garage. I mean, she doesn't even have a knife at that moment, how on Earth does she instantly kills Noah like that?

I just played this and holy hell fears to fathom never fails to disappoint in providing a combination of slow building atmosphere and intuitive decision making! I barely flinched in Horror games EXCEPT for this one 😅 , the building atmosphere, the ambience are so good and that Chase music makes mt hair stand at back of my neck. Looking forward to buy and play this game (and some other episodes) on Steam.

yes this is another one I have been trying to figure. So clearly on the bike she doesn't sense you so there is something about your body being on the ground etc for her to sense you. Also she doesn't come at you unless you look at her! Heat seeking missle made me laugh cause that is exactly what she is like haha

@@IridosGaming yeah like it gets the atmosphere right but when there is gameplay involved you have to often account for different player reaction. Example Jack saw her at the side of the house and she chased him. He closed the door but she went through eventhough then he looped and tried to escape via bike but couldnt. That can take away from an experience frankly or the dog not reacting when she is chasing you.

On their discord they are asking for bugs etc. I say they are a small enough team but yeah I get you like I thought Zeke was going to lead us to the bad guy. He was looking in the bushes at one stage and I was like omg are they in there but like that he just seemed to go on a path that didn't make much sense

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy Fears To Fathom. This episode feels like they miss out on a lot of opportunities for different endings. Obviously, the story ending is the one the game forces you to do. What turns me off is that it's forced upon you... Outside of getting killed there is no other good ending to get. I've watched different RU-vidrs play this game one common thing that most tried is at 2:59. I honestly think it should've been another good ending. You're escaping in your own way instead of following the script the game wants you to. I like when games reward you for thinking outside of the set path they want you to take, so I feel like it was missed here. A Minor path change to the in-game ending is not being forced to talk with her. Pretending to stay quiet, then retreating to the room you hide in. She's gonna think you're in the computer room playing stupid so she's gonna come around that corner anyways. Once she outta sight you book it! Again I love the series, and I appreciate these videos you made of "What if I tried Doing This?"

Tbh, it's just my point of view. But I would like to express it: This episode 3 really gave a somewhat vibe of the game "Welcome to the Game"(if someone has played it). Yk, sitting in front of the computer, working on it and then simultaneously keeping a check with the help of security cameras installed. And then, getting up and searching the whole house.....it was all so related. But yeah, it had a great storyline. But I think there was something missing unlike Norwood Hitchhike. Excited for the next two episodes!

not to bash the game, i know it's held together by a small group of devs... but spending the entire game doing chores, talking, texting and calling, then discovering Carson's fuss from your friend's text just for the only scary part to be at the very last three minutes of the game is a bit absurd honestly. especially with the fact that main cause of that part is barely affiliated in any way with what you've been doing in 90% of the walkthrough. the game design was a genuine 10. the writing? it could've had a better execution/path. i enjoyed it anyway though.

I will say on my old PC it really struggled with it so I feel ya on that one. It is a small indie game but maybe no harm going on the discord for the game (it's a very active community) and saying it? Once they think there is a want for it on PS etc they might do it 😊

Now I do think as the other games are some of it is timed IE if you don't go into that room within a certain timeframe she will be moving herself to a different area but that I am unsure now I must say 🤔

Possibly an invisible wall? Not sure, but from some gameplay I have seen, different wallings are active in different chapters, including the rain, to force him to meet the pizza guy to "avoid getting cold" just to meet him from the back door. But maybe you mean why didn't the game allow him to run away in this situation where everything is triggered like it would have been logical (letting alone him calling the police, but it would be a game breaker for most horror game designs). But it seems all Fears to Fathom games have a countdown triggered if the enemy characters see you, they are supposed to reach you almost immediately, but even in a case where they are successfully outrun or are not in sight, the murder animation eventually plays and the player dies :).
