Maybe the reason why olimar didn't wave goodbye to the Pikmin was because he was afraid that his oxygen support would run out any second

If I am being honest the "devastating" ending of Pikmin 1 is more bittersweet than devastating. Still an ending you'll probably want to avoid though.

At least we know hes technically fine after that ending because of Pikmin 4, since, if im correct, Olimar's Shipwreck Tale is just a retelling of Pikmin 1 in an alternate reality

I never got the bad ending. I've gotten the decent and best endings though. That bad ending seems relevant to what happens in Pikmin 4 however.

its cool how there was lime, cyan, orange, black, and pink onions at the end cutscene, and leaves many theories about what the cyan, orange, and lime pikmin look like and what they do Edit: Lime is glow, cyan is ice, orange doesnt exist yet, black is rock, pink is winged. and i know glow come from lumiknolls, but remember this is pikmin 1, so its just speculation

I think pink and black might be Rock and Winged Pikmin from Pikmin 3...but maybe we'll never know about the mysteries of the others.

All the onions STILL correspond to all the pikmin types. We don't know what orange is however.

Fun fact: there’s a theory that Pikmin 4 takes place after Pikmin 1’s bad ending but I feel like that this also happens to Olimar in the true Pikmin story play the Pikmin 4 demo and you’ll see what I mean

You're right, maybe he turned into a leafling in pikmin 1 and moss saved him in pikmin 4 since he's also able to pluck pikmin off the ground

Well Pikmin 4 is in a different timeline from 1-2-3. Is more like it took place in a reboot of 1 but with Olimar having found a dog to help find his ship parts.

@rogox1449 this is the route they should have gone honestly. It would be cool to think that It could but unfortunately the mode Olimar's Shipwreck Tale in Pikmin 4 just resets everything it seems. I don't like how Olimar acts like this is his first time on the planet rather than his 4th. It's so weird what direction they've chosen. It's like did they retcon the previous games? There's elements that are from them and the Koppaites in the post game resemble the Pikmin 3 characters and sucks the Pikmin 3 characters Alph, Brittany and Charlie didn't return. Just people that look very similar to them. The story is so wierd here.

kind of ironic the only type of pikmin not actually used in a game at some point seems to be whatever would come out of that orange onion. Also technically the green onion if you don't want to count the glow pikmin as green.
