Gaden Shartse part of Gaden monastery founded by Lama Tsongkhapa has celebrated one of the four great deeds of Je Rinpoche-Lama Tsongkhapa called the Gaden great practice and offering of Taktse (Gaden Taktse Dubcho chenmo). During this time the monks practice the self entry into the mandala of the thirteen deity Yamantaka. From the 15-20 of the first Tibetan month the ritual of the land (during which the mandala is erected) took place. From 21-24 the actual practice took place. On the 25 the peaceful fire offering took place. And on the 26th the ritual of throwing the sand into the water.
