To everyone saying this looks too easy: you can up the difficulty significantly by changing the opponent AI’s level to “extreme”! Tried it and got my ass kicked multiple times and the relays/medleys become almost impossible to win and it’s quite fun and challenging. Though I do believe what this game excels at the most is character creation. I honestly think they put half of their budget into their character assets. It’s that good lmao.
Was a huge fan of International Track and Field back in the day and I downloaded this yesterday. Actually, it’s a lot of fun. The cartoon characters and youthful tone of the game isn’t as bad as I thought it would be if you’re just looking for a fun, casual game to play by yourself or with friends. Whilst not too realistic I think I like the arcade style. Would be nice to have a proper ‘realistic’ athletics game at some point though.
Yea same here man. And your talking about track and field for N64 right? I looked up this get because of remembering that game. Seems cool but the arcade style is a little off putting for me
@@andrewsmyth1641 It's fun, I think. Kind of in a SNES way. Probably more suited to 11 year olds but I'm 37 and I still enjoyed it. Just not in a FIFA-level of seriousness.
@@RK-rf8rc I bought it, around £1 per game its worth it. Rugby, tennis, sprint, boxing are actually fun, will try the rest shortly. Value for money... Definitely
L'ho appena acquistato su Amazon, e ci gioco tantissimo, ha una grafica eccezionale, peccato che ci sono pochi giochi se no sarebbe un gioco spettacolare
Man, can't they just do Sports Champions 3 or something? Those games for PS3 were/still are really great...especially since you actually engage your body with the Move system.
i only think they should've made the uniforms in some sports (like football and basketball) closer to real-life (Virtua Striker sorta thing), but this isn't bad. it's competent enough for what it proposes itself to be, and the customization is great too.

Olympics games been on a downward trend ever since Eurocom went bust a few years after making Beijing 2008. So sad. Will we ever get a simulation game with almost 40 events or more again?
@@cristianbrail2632 Those Two? PMSL International Track & Field is 1 game & that game was far better than this cartoon shite took REAL SKILL to win on that game unlike this crap
You're not saying how or why. My guess is nostalgia. All these games are practically the same with slightly different mechanics and graphics. Be it SNES or switch. You're being a game snob
@@mrrogue1763 those two games are like the same even if this game is cartoony is my opinion maybe is ur nostalgia BUT U CANT CHANGE MY OPINION THAT THIS IS BETTER THAT THE TWO PIXEL SHITE GAMES
The character models all look like they're taken from Crusader Kings but, for their shouts of victory sound-effects, with dying sounds taken from old 4-3 aspect ratio Kung Fu movies. The games generally speaking seems pretty good in the sense that there are enough worthwhile games in there even if the person only plays some of them. The table-tennis looks cool, and volleyball, BMX, Basket-ball, and Rugby, as does the gamings about the soccerers and soccereresses. As for the other sports video-games genres _(swimming, running and the like),_ some of those work better if more about player stats, like a spreadsheet-game, like Championship-Manager rather than actually playing the sport. The hammer-throw could be redesigned like that. The boxers look kinda of cool, although that genre is a bit like wrestling (and martial-arts or fencing) whereby the Bushido-Blade or Fire-pro-wrestling on GBA with carefully planned moves can be a favourable way (sometimes) to design it. The Judo looks to be "sort of" doing that. The sport-climbing resembles a rhythm-time game akin to Frets-of-fire which is fine if the player is happy with that genre-swap. Again though, a manager-style game-genre could have been used. The baseball could also be done in a manager game genre however, competing with Mario Superstar Baseball (Gamecube) is hard to do and it has a reputation as a difficult game to master. The Tokyo2020 game, while designed to be appealing to the unwashed masses of the console-peasants app-style mobile gamer for the sales, looks like it nonetheless does make some effort to have some more thoughtful gameplay mechanisms. _"OKayishly OK: 10/10"_ *(IGN)* My comment has no hate in it and I do no harm. I am not appalled or afraid, boasting or envying or complaining... Just saying. Psalms23: Giving thanks and praise to the Lord and peace and love. Also, I'd say Matthew6.
@@Lberg83 You say "real" and I don't think SEGA had realism in mind with making this game. Look at all those power-up shots and those outrageous outfits-this is a fun game that families and friends will enjoy.
looks like another childish cry baby over something so dumb. guess you never heard of family fun games becausd you dont have a big family to play with!
@@japanesegamergirl1 pipe down (girl) he’s curious if the game is hard or not cause it obviously wouldnt be fun if you won every event I wanted to know this as well so stop crying for attention he’s just wondering if the game will be enjoyable or a challenge for him

This looks terrible, like a bunch of Wii party games. They should've stuck to the Beijing 2008 style. If people want to play Football, Tennis and such then their's far better choices out there. :/
If I wanted a sports game based on the olympics I wouldn't do it with SEGA. I would do it with Big Ant Studios because at least with Big Ant Studios there sports games are actually quite good. This is just an embarrassment to all of the athletes who compete in the olympics along with the fans from around the world that watch it.
