context: Macaque is shadowed by an old ally of his called Sun Wukong(aka monkey king) and practically left Macaque after he got his cool awesome powers. Now he comes back to learn that he(Wukong) has a successor and uses him (the kid with a bandana and a red stick(that is 17,550 LBS)) by tricking him by defeating a demon (which he created) with one blow to astonish the successor and train him at this scene 0:44 the sign actually acts like a power bar at 2:17 when the bar is filled Macaque steals the power and now the Kid cant lift the stick anymore, Now Macaque has the same power as Wukong. Speaking of Wukong, he comes and saves attempts the save the kid, and then at 3:39 the successor tries all his will to save his mentor and then defeats macaque. The parts with him in the lantern is uh... he basically comes back to teach him a lesson(indirectly) not to abandon and look down at his friend just because of a new found power he achieve. The lesson ended when he broke the lantern (and then he fixes it later).

I Have the answers! ask anymore questions if you need/want. This show is called Lego Monkie kid and you can watch seasons 1-2 on wcofun and season 3 on the playlist section of a channel called "free noodles". The plot is that a kid named MK receives the Monkey Kings Staff (The staff you see him holding) and the staff is also magical so he has to learn how to control his newfound powers. The animation is incredible and i am in love with the character designs. I totally recommend watching it!
