The 30th Annual All Faith Prayer, a unique gathering that has become a significant prelude to the Durga Puja festivities in Shillong, was hosted today by the Shillong Hindu Dharma Sabha Durga Puja Committee, in collaboration with the Central Puja Committee, at the Jagannath Mandir, Thana Road.
It maybe mentioned that the this year marks the 125th year of the Shillong Hindu Dharma Sabha.
This yearly tradition, which aims to promote unity in diversity, brought together religious leaders from various faiths to offer prayers for peace and harmony. The ceremonial lamp was lit, followed by the chanting of Jagannath hymns.
Governor of Meghalaya, C.H. Vijayashankar, who graced the event as the chief guest, praised the committee for fostering interfaith dialogue through this initiative.
Over the years, The All Faith Prayer has grown into a symbol of communal solidarity, setting the stage for the upcoming Durga Puja celebrations, and the follow festivals.

The all faith prayer meet is the best thing that happened in Shillong this year. It's a relief from the shouts of " only my way is the right way ".
