man i really hate to be that guy but he is simply couldn't surpass his older works with the new music. Chloe Burbank is so raw and full of personality, something that i don't find in his new albums
I feel like Joji would benefit from getting out of 88rising and going independent. Nectar was a pretty good album, but Smithereens only had like 2 or 3 good tracks, and that's mostly because of studio interference. The bulk of Smithereens wasn't even written or produced by Joji, they hired outside writers and producers and it was only his voice. Joji's at his best when he makes music without a filter and record labels interfering.
