Here we go, my attempt to cover every Easter egg in Far Cry 5! The game is massive though, so if I happen to have missed one then please mention it in the comments down below!
In the tutorial, when you climb up the radio tower, says Dutch that he doesn't want us to climb towers in Hope County and he knows what we think while we were climbing. It's a nice joke about Ubis tradition to let the players climb up towers to discover the map like on Assassin's Creed for example.
Jake PaulpTarts tbh I have no idea if he will be in Far Cry New Dawn (also I think that new dawn might be a reference to the new dawn church in watch dogs 2)
I remember when I was talking to Adelaide(Hurks mum) and she said “People are holding up in that prison? Just like season 3 of that zombie show just a lot more boring” walking dead reference
In the very beginning of the game, when you wake up in Dutch's bunker, there's a quote from Vaas on the wall. "The world is a diagonal and I am the balancing point". Just something I noticed and thought was pretty cool.
bitch boy now that I think about it Dutch’s name might be a reference to Dutch Van Der Linde from rdr/rdr2 Edit: probably not but still cool to think about
I remember stumbling upon that balloon in the wild. I was running away from one of John’s capture parties and slid down into that pipeline. I was like, well either get drugged and killed by John or eaten by Pennywise
Also in Faith's region, sometimes "NPCs" will jump off of bridges or cliffs and turn into bliss dust, and some hostages may sometimes kill themselves once you rescue them. And after you liberate a region, occasionally they'll accidentally blow themselves up while trying to start a fire.
There’s someone who says “I could have been a deputy like you, but then I took a bullet to the knee” obviously referring to Skyrim. All I remember is that he’s wanna of the fishing guys.
If you fly the helicopter at night around you will see this bright lights and there are alien spaceships flying around and they vanish and reappear every here and there
On rare occasions, when your non-specialist GFH enters your vehicle they will say "Transform and roll out!", referencing Transformers. Also of note is The Widowmaker's resemblance to Optimus Prime
redmike 1617 the transformers movies with Mark Wahlberg are shit (just saying because it cannot he ignored) also in the last one when they are pushing towards the staff thing instead of saying “autobot’s, roll out” they say “autobot’s, attack” which ruins the already trash movie
There’s also a subtle, and honestly kinda sad, easter egg that references the late and fucking great Chris Farley. The reference is in the description text for one of the vans you can get in the game that reads “perfect for living in down by the river” in reference to his SNL skit as the doobie rollin’ motivational speaker that lives in a van down by the river.
You missed a pretty big one. The side mission “what they carried” where you go around collecting lighters from the Vietnam war, is a reference to the book “The things they carried” which is a book about many Vietnam war stories. Great book I would highly recommend it
Officer Whiskey yeah I really enjoyed the book and actually just got my own copy for Easter. Definitely agree that it is better than any movie could have done
Theres a far cry 3 easter egg at the first mission when you climb the tower the Guy tells you ''Dont worry i wont be having you climbing towers all day'' wasnt there like 18 towers to climb in fc3
When you get the mission to acquire tulip there was a reference to the walking dead where she says “hard to imagine there were people held up in the prison it’s like that one zombie show except less hunks”
Can I just say how much fun I'm having with this game. I got it like a day ago and have already packed in like 11 hours. It's just a very refreshing game to have right now. With all the scams, microtransactions, unfinished games, etc. It's feels good to just play FAR CRY again. It's reminiscent of my time in Far Cry 3. Just running around and doing whatever. A very fun game. And the story and characters are fucking amazing, especially the antagonists. If you haven't purchased this game yet and even remotely enjoyed the other games. Buy it, it's worth it. You could even wait until it's like 30$ or even 20$ but you have to try it eventually.
The reference to the frying pan is actually a lot more disturbing than either lfd or pupg, it references a real life situation that happened where Timothy Treadwell, a bear enthusiast and wildlife journalist was mauled to death by a bear in his camping spot and tried to fight it off with a frying pan. Timothy was being filmed by his wife Amie I belive when the incident took place, the footage is part of a few footages that are legally banned from being released worldwide, however the audio of the attack was leaked and still exists on youtube amongst other places.
During the first cutscene with faith, you watch the Martial perform a leap off the Joseph statue, and the mission is also named "Leap of Faith" Remind you of any other Ubisoft game?
I don’t know if this has been discovered but back in 2018 when me and my friend used to play the hell out of this game, I was driving a heli across the mountains across the edges of the map and I remember there was this plateau and a Viking-like architecture or something like that, it wasn’t big but it was small, that probably was a tip to AC Valhalla.
In the first mission you do for Hurk, if you bring Jess with you she’ll ask about what it is like in the different countries he was at and Hurk will reference Vass and Pagen Min
I really think the reference at 9:46 is a reference to PUBG as there was a very lucky player who managed to deflect a bullet with a frying fan which saved their life. In this instance the guy didn’t deflect the bullet and ended up dying. I seriously doubt it would reference anything else.
Well tbh the frying pan and the cap makes me point more towards Ellis from Left 4 Dead 2. The guy looks a bit like him to top it off, it wouldn't be the first time Ubisoft referenced Left 4 Dead.
True. The pants can bear a resemblance but the cap most certainly does. I still think it bears more to PUBG. It may also be an Ubisoft conspiracy to combine two references in one just to cause controversy on the internet. Lol.
Meanwhile it could just be some dude who who was camping and had the cult roll up on him when he was making dinner so he tried to run and got shot in the back
HeadhunterGaming I don’t have the game but if you go on this guys channel he has a video called far cry 5 it part 2 Easter egg and I’m pretty sure he shows the location in that vid
I actually know one he missed! If you speak to the cook of the bar in Falls End after completing his various side missions he’ll straight up name-drop the Jackal and talk a little about the events of Far Cry 2!
shadow night xxx no pennywise takes a male form but is a female because she was in the middle of having egg babies when the adult loser club killed her
U missed the Throw back to Farcry 4 and 3 - With the CIA guy XD forgot his name. He was the guy who gives u the quest to get a certain Video Tape back ;)
The town of mannequins is later explained in a side mission for the guy who makes homeopathics and I guess you could count Willis Huntley as an easter egg because he was in Far Cry 4
I was playing this game last night and I seen the flying Sorcerers in the sky when I was flying the helicopter when I try getting close to them they disappear and reappear somewhere else with Crazy Light beams towards the floor
Don’t forget the Tremors reference. When you clear the auto body outpost, Merrel says a line about his buddy Burt that moves out to the desert of Arizona to a town with a population of like 12 with his wife and truck and all his supplies. That’s reference Burt from the Tremors series who was a serious prepper and all round badass.
Anyone try hitting the balloons with a slingshot? That's what they used in the movie and the slingshot is in the game, I wonder if it will do anything. Probably not
There is a skyrim reference in the game few have found or picked up on. While running around with a gun for hire i heard twice in the space of 5 minutes "I wanted to be a deputy like you. But I took a bullet in the knee"
Just found a cool one. On Joseph’s little island, travel to the Holme’s Residence. There’s a pile of books on the floor and on the cabinet next to the pile inside the house and one of them says Mumu’s Fashion Week - Mumu being from Far Cry 4. There’s also a book about Malaria, obviously referencing Far Cry 2. There’s a lot of references basically.
There's a common folk around a camp fire playing guitar. He's also singing a cover of the Leadbelly song "Where did you sleep last night" made famous on the Nivana Unplugged album.
Found and Easter egg to Far Cry 2. In King’s Hot Spring Hotel there is a book named “Malaria: The Annoying Disease”. Which most Far Cry fans will get a chuckle at since Far Cry’s 2 story was based around that disease
I found a Skyrim easter egg in Far Cry 5, was fishing with one of the old mans u can find near fishing spots, which u can sell and buy stuff from. Heard him saying "i was once a deputy like you, then i took a bullet to the knee" referencing Skyrim guard line "i was once a adventurer like you, then i took an arrow to the knee"
There is another Easter egg when you help Larry for the alien gun during a small part he has dialogue talking about accidents he has had in the past with his experiments and names turning someone into a half man half fly which is a reference to the movie The Fly.
*_What's especially creepy about O'Hara's is that the window is originally barred (ref _**_13:50_**_) but when you get up to the attic, there is an open window (ref _**_15:17_**_). How does this happen so quickly?_*
In the second Faith meeting. Joseph Seed mentions leaders while a nuke goes off in the background. Two easter eggs. 1) The leader Joseph goes on about is meant to be American President Donald Trump. And 2) *SPOILER ALERT* Foreshadows the end of the game where you and Joseph are trapped in Dutch's bunker as a nuke goes off and you can see the flames on the road which you drive down (considering you chose the ending where you save everyone) when you are in the bliss.
One you forgot was when you go to a tower there is a door hanging of a ledge and an open cabinet below it. When you run and jump off the door and land in the cabinet a bird caws. That's a reference to Assassin's Creed when you free fall of a ledge a bird caws as well.
This game was so good with how it was serious and funny at all times, and that bad ending was badass, and the fact they brought the best character girl back, and references to far cry being a movie, ah just so good
You also missed this. Joseph Seed: And behold...there was a "WHITE HORSE" *stares at Sheriff Whitehorse* And hell followed with him. *Stares at Rook* Just a small little detail at 5:21.
You missed a sasquatch easter egg, if you want to call it that. There's a prepper stash mission called Gone Squatchin' and throughout the mission you can hear sasquatch roars, and a man screaming in pain. The path to get the keycard is also littered with human skeletons.
I think it’s pubG because of the vintage baseball cap, cargo pants and work boots as well as the pan. And the whole area is green and mountainous like the pubG map itself. Also the fact that all these items he’s wearing can be unlockable and can be worn from survivor crates
There’s is an Easter egg in the north east part of John’s region, it’s a side quest involving Willis Huntley, the guy that kicks you out of the plane in Far Cry 4. No, I didn’t take this from anyone I just recognized him.
My Name is Battle Nah man in Far Cry 3 Jason willingly jumps out of Willis' plane to get to the southern island, in Far Cry 4 he kicks Ajay out of the plane because he sells him out to Pagan.
After doing the second larry parker mission, when we get to talk to him, i think he actually mentions DLC in a crytographic sort of manner. The actual dialogue of him is - "......Anne will be thrilled. Speaking of thrilled, it's done. The DYNAMIC LASER CAPACITOR is complete. The real fun is about to begin....." This might be a sort of direct way of pointing that the DLC is complete and is going to come any time soon. Well...those are my thoughts and sorry for any grammar mistake because english is not my first language :D .
The Patriots deflate gate is in here when Kim is on the radio as you fly Nicks plane. And “sexual healing” by Marvin Gay plays in a side mission when you need to collect bull testicals for the cook
Tremors easter egg in Fall's End you didn't catch. Meanwhile personally, I don't think it's really an easter egg if you have to have another game to unlock it in uplay before you can use it, like the Primal or Rainbow Six outfits.
What about big foot easter egg? If you do one of the treasure hunt mission or what ever there called I think its in the north I can't remember anyways there refinance to big foot and even his foot print and spotting on the wall ect you'll find his lair with body's ( skeletons ) and Of approaching the start of the mission am sure I heard a rowar
i found the cave with paintings at the start of the game pretty much and i think its a easter egg from primal as it has the same paintings writed on the wall in the southern cave
Its not the thundergun it a little fan compared to the thundergun now only if they made it possible to find a pack a punch machine and upgrade it and rename it the zeus cannon(people who have played black ops 1 zombies or black ops 3 zombies you will know what unholy weapon of mass destruction I speak of)
Were you inspired by Regular Show? because the name "eggcelent" seems to me a reference xD, in other words, you make videos too good, I'm loving your channel, it's to be congratulated
There's the Larry Parker mission where when he evaporates if u stand in it you get some typa vision thing for a few seconds, also a funny one is in faiths region all your guns for hire are chillin in a place called 8-bit pizza and if u listen to them talk they have custom lines for eachother and have conversations
There’s an Easter egg in Dutch’s bunker for Far cry 3. On the wall it says “the world is a diagonal I am the balancing point” which is a quote from Vaas
There is another red ballon Under the bride in the water if you get off the first island. Shoot it and the cage is open and you can collect a wishkey barrel.
During ubisofts exploration of Montana they decided to add all the little random carvings etchings they found during their research, from random tree carvings to random drawings on rocks.
When you meet Sharky Boshaw for the first time he makes a Mad Max fury road reference by shouting "What a day, what a lovely day" just like Nux does in that movie.
When you have to arrest Joseph, not sure how the girl on the right manages to stay on her feet for 5 minutes with that kind of stance, that seems a bit uncomfortable !
My comment was about me being impressed/baffled by her balancing act, how is her name related to that ? Having faith in gravity or her good bone-structure ?
i have a easter egg i haven’t heard people talk about ( probably because it’s from an old SNL skit ) but if you go to buy the 1989 Hierarch Wanderer van the description below it says “This van is perfect for living in it down buy the river” which is a reference to Chris Farley’s skit where he is a motivational speaker living in a van down buy the river
Leaving a like solely because of the fact you went through the trouble to show footage from the other games like CoD and watchdogs to show us what you were talking about. Shows dedication and quality to your videos, instead of taking the easy way out and just saying "its in those games", and just leaving it at that.
There is a fisherman that says "I could have been a deputy like you but I took a bullet to the knee" he's was at the fishing spot near the Sasquatch mission.
