Hell yea I forget the exact line but ultima was like “so what do think will become of this world” and Clive put it as blunt as you can be. Slavery, discrimination, war, hunger. It’ll all continue but at least it’s of their own will.
@@RedAlpha101 it plays in the cutscene near the end before the three leave for the final battle! (trying to be vague, unless you want spoilers/already know what happened.)
@@silverdeer4876there’s actually another use early on, when Cid reveals his plan for the mother crystals. It’s not the fullblown theme but the leitmotif is still there
It's pretty amazing to hear how this theme has changed over the years. Definitely hits really different once VIII happened with the full orchestra, and I have to admit I really love Shimomura's version with all the beautiful piano work and i love the really stripped back version Soken did for XVI as well. Great video!
I can't remember where I read it, but Square mentioned that FFX was the first Final Fantasy game to shift away from the western RPG style. They aimed to make FFX distinctly Asian, which led them to modify many jingles and themes that sounded "too European," including the Final Fantasy Theme. As a result, they created a unique, one-time theme called "To Zanarkand." This theme is exclusive to FFX and has become a leitmotif for much of the background music in the game.
@@dittoprae3863it's interesting really because FFX is universally loved while the other two mainline games that doesn't have the theme is universally derided Of course the issue with those two games are far more than just the music but it's interesting to see the connection
Excellent video This track alone, despite its 8-bit roots always felt so grandiose and that the moment it hits its peak. We would get like a big landscape view of the entire world and then the title would just drop adding to the spectacle
I wonder when Uematsu first composed it did he already have the full orchestra version in his head. I can't imagine how he felt finally hearing it for the first time after so many years.
FF4 is the best one he made and then the others got inspired by him but made it look a bit different to each moment, every composers also great too but Nobuo Uematsu just hit different.
Final Fantasy 1 to 5: For all ages with compelling stories and happy endings. Final Fantasy 6 to 15: For teens onwards with emotional plots, epic battles, love, loss and good endings. Final Fantasy 16: For adults only with a dark depressing mature story which shows the horrors of war and with a bittersweet ending. But regardless of their different stories, tones and age targets the main theme music is always stellar and a masterpiece of music.
@@lpk675 True. FF6 was the changing point when the franchise moved onto a teen audience, pushed the boundaries of kids games and had a bold bittersweet ending.
@@lpk675 I think it's the opposite, the world is destroyed, yes, but a new one can be build and that is what the protagonists aim to do at the end of FF6, it would have be a sad ending if everyone just gave up, just like Kefka wanted
I grew up on the FFVII, FFVIII and FFIX themes. The jump from FFVII to FFVIII, is quite significant, when Uematsu-sensei decided to go full orchestra, and that gave the FF Main Theme a lot of depth. My Personal favourite is FFVIII, the sequence ending theme is very seamless and you get to hear the orchestral arrangement for Eyes On Me. Such Perfection. 👌🏽
FF12 is quite like a "march" theme, fit for the game since it's about political struggles. Fastest main theme is probably FF16 "Dominance" trailer, where they call out all the names of Eikon, & my favourite between all of the theme.
I don't get the hate behind FF15. The gameplay was simplistic and a lot of content was cut, but the world was stunning and roaming around with your bros was fun. One of my favourite FF games really
There's the infinite hallway, and the plot past the Leviathan boss fight falls a part pretty quickly, especially towards the end where everything made no sense and it was clearly rushed. And that's even with the patches and DLC that improved things. And don't get me wrong, I love 15. It's a sold game with solid characters... but it has several noticeable issues if you really look at it.
FF XV arrangement is my fav, by far. It helps that is also used as, minor spoilers: . . . . . . . Is used as part of the "hey, this is the logo. Please cry because they can never be together!" 😭
In a cancelled DLC the game drastically would have changed with Lunafreya surviving as well as Noctis however that was put into a book and is considered non cannon but it’s an amazing read. Edit: I got the synopsis wrong and basically the game happens as is but Lunafreya basically wakes up from death and a new world is born. The book is called The Dawn Of The Future.
FF15 best FF4 Classic FF16 Wonderful. However, the main theme of the most basic and widely known version of the orchestra is the theme of FF8. The theme of FF8 was also adopted at the Tokyo Olympics.
IV is the one that always hit the the hardest, because I remember it playing right before the final boss and motivated me to try to beat it :> Unfrotunetly had to return it before I could buve LOVED it.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! Can you PLEASE do one with Prelude, one with Victory Fanfare, and one with Chocobo Themes? Just I-XVI (please use XIV:1.0 and XIV:ARR versions, but no sequels like X-2, XIII-2, VII:R, or other XIV Expansions). Main Reason my bottom 3 FINAL FANTASY Instalments are XIII, X, and II. XIII also doesn't have FINAL FANTASY Prelude and FINAL FANTASY Victory Fanfare versions. Main Reason it is my bottom one. X is after because it is inexcusable for the 10th Instalment to not have the Main Theme of the Series. II I forgive it because it was the first sequel and it wasn't established yet that that would be the Series Main Theme, the same way I forgive I for not having Chocobos.
XIII does have the prelude, kinda. It's hidden in Sunleth Waterscape, but in a different key. and its tempo is way faster. btw XII doesn't have the FF victory fanfare, same with XV.
@@GiordanDiodato XIII does not have the FINAL FANTASY Prelude, it is not in that Song. Victory Fanfare definitely is in XII and XV, in XII when you beat a Boss, and on XV when you sleep in a Camp and Level up. Also, Prompto randomly singing it after normal battles.
I wished more composer can try to compose FF Main Theme. Imagine an FF version compose by Sawano Hiroyuki. I wished FF17 have Sawano as the guest composer 😂
7 also doesn't have this theme yet he's trying to make it seem like it does. I have beaten 7 a hundred million times and know everything about the game and this theme is definitely not in it without mods.
@@terry85marit plays during the end credits, during the “staff roll” song, at 3.31 since the start of the song. 2, 10 and 13 are the only main ff without the theme
In Lightning Return there is trumpet version of main theme right in front of Yusnaan station... But I don't think it counts... I really hope the main theme play at the ending cutscene, where Lightning and friend stand around the crystal witnessing the newborn earth😢
This theme is not in ff7. I have been playing this game through entirely at least once a year since release and this theme is not in the game unless someone modded it in.
7, 8 and 9 all had it as part of the end credit themes ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--1ZBWUnYPbA.html link to the point in the soundtrack here
