All First Person Death Scenes in Call of Duty 

I'm getting so many comments complaining that the player did not die in Black Ops 3. Assuming that you've finished the game, you should've realised that the player had already died in hospital and the events/missions after that well all within the player's DNI, or you could call it a dream sequence, where the player dreams were revolved around Taylor's experience because Taylor had interfaced with the player's mind, sharing all his experiences with the player. They killed Roach and Ghost just for Goddamn WIFI

Being beat to death by a robot seemed like the worst in my opinion. Having a terminator rip my arms off and then beating me into a crater makes some of these seems tame.

First-person death scenes are always so impactful because they're always canon and story-significant. Something about them always shakes me. Part of me kinda wishes they had stuck with the idea that Jackson would've survived the blast and that they had a level with you playing as him and going through fighting surviving enemies, but I'm glad they didn't.

Literally the only reason this failed is because ol' Farid thinks he has to physically plant the gun against Menendez' head or the bullet doesn't work.

Jackson's death in CoD4 was by far and wide the eeriest one. Watching a nuke go off and walking towards it, knowing full well you are going to die from the nuclear fallout... it's something so awfully helpless about it.

Tbh, I think Nick Reyes's death in IW is heavily underrated and it's also my favourite. As tragic as Ghost's and Roach's deaths were in MW2, they were due to a betrayal. Most of these deaths are also due to being captured. What I like about Nick's death is that he didn't care about dying or not. All he cared about was accomplishing the mission. In fact, if I remember correctly, only 3 people actually survived that battle out of hundreds of combatants. When I saw him die for the first time, I didn't feel sad because I knew he died with honour. I also just love how it's all played out. He gets Nora to shoot at his location because he puts the mission first. Then, we see him floating in space while he knows those moments are going to be his last, hence why he doesn't talk. The silence is supposed to symbolise how he's accepting his fate. This whole scene in general gives you time to actually accept your fate, especially when you see his visor starting to break apart. Then, once he dies, there's silence for a few seconds, except for that beat, which slowly fades away, and you just stare into space, giving that feeling of having accomplished something through your death. This is easily the most honourable death in the entire COD franchise imo

I first saw the Roach scene when I was like 11 years old. All the effort ghost made to extract him safely just to have him murdered by a “friendly” was heartbreaking. That’s the most powerful “NO!” in the history of gaming right there.

I cried after playing Infinite Warfare. It's such a well-written and well-developed story. Fantastic characters with such depth. Ethan and Reyes, never be another pair like them in COD.

That death of ripping limb from limb and beating him with it was one of the most gruesome, brutal scenes in cod.

tbh i think nicks death was actually one of the best because you can hear his breathing speed up in fear and desperation when he gets flung off the ship and makes it much more human than some of the other ones where the character just sits there

out of all the cod deaths, Ethan's imo was by far the saddest, the interactions of Ethan and Reyes were too wholesome/sad, especially when they almost died in the espace (and when they actually died lol) and shit i cried like a baby when i heard Ethan's message in the credits "i always wanted to know what is like to have a family. And now i do."

While the deaths of characters like Joseph Allen and Roach are iconic moments. Paul Jackson’s death from the nuclear bomb is so striking. There’s simply nothing left. Theres no heroic send out, just people clawing to stay alive while their bodies are being fried by radiation. Dying from the initial blast or falling from the helicopter would be a mercy compared to the fallout.

Sjt. Paul Jackson died a hero, pulled out his comrade, who was covering him and the team from the fallen helicopter and carried them to the evacuation on his shoulders. To the last, he tried to save his comrades who fell out of the helicopter after the bomb explosion. And in the end, the wounded man, hobbling along the scorched earth as if in hell, heard the screams of still living comrades and in the end fell dead. 30,000 soldiers died after seeing hell on earth, but everyone still remembers only Goust and Roach.

I don’t care what anyone says, the death of Paul Jackson was by far the most haunting one to me. It’s horrifying, because it’s everyone’s greatest fear in this modern world. And something about having no objective but just try and move and ultimately just die in the midst of a nuclear blast is so chilling to me. The others may have been more violent or graphic sure, but nothing is more spine chilling than dying at the hands of a nuke.
