💕 We believe Islam is the most inclusive religion. We are historically defined as the "Islamic World," which signifies the importance of overlooking international borders and ethnic backgrounds. As Muslims, we believe there is no superior race, ethnic background, or nationality. How is it that, even though Islam is supposed to unite us, we still see segregated mosques and MSAs? Allah ﷻ says in a verse in the Quran: وَمِنْ آيَاتِهِ خَلْقُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَاخْتِلَافُ أَلْسِنَتِكُمْ وَأَلْوَانِكُمْ ۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ لِلْعَالِمِينَ "And of His signs is the creation of the heavens and the earth and the diversity of your languages and your colors. Indeed in that are signs for those of knowledge." How can we actually live by this ayah?
💕 The Annual MAS-ICNA Convention is one of the largest and most diverse Islamic conventions in North America. The convention takes place in Chicago, Illinois every December during the winter holiday season.
