I wonder what would have happened to his story if Gary had continued his journey and competed in the other leagues. Thinking about it, I wonder how that scenario would have built up the rematch between Gary and Ash that we deserved to see as a final full battle after the Johto Silver Conference 🤔
Ik I personally kinda like him more than Ash because he catches alot of and evolves pokemon, I would love to have a series where Gary goes to all the regions and catches more pokemon, sort of like how Goh did to fill his pokedex since in later seasons Ash would only catch 5 or 6 pokemon per region as shown in XYZ, Alola, and Journeys. And Ash also only caught 1 galarian pokemon which I found disappointing since the point of journeys was kind of to introduce galar
Gary was such a unique rival. He was cocky and stuck up, but he could back it up. Usually, a really conceited character is played off as a joke and gets creamed, but Gary could insult you, kick your ass, and insult you again. Very few pokemon rivals have had the same impact.
I just put them there cause we dont have any confirmation about the stage caught. Also Ash caught Gengar and Dragonite. Gary could have caught 3rd stage pkm
