You need to always remove the strings or netting off those round bails. I have seen horses lost teeth and get wrapped up in them. Vet bills are very high but removing those things only takes a few minutes.
I was born and raised in Iowa. Never did like cold weather. Snow is pretty only when it's falling. I now live in Phoenix area. The hot is delightful. And if I'm ever yearning for snow (which is never) the snowy mountains are a short drive. I do miss Iowa sweetcorn about the middle of July though.
Girl after my own heart ❤❤❤ I want it so hot outside I can’t stand it!!! Just a friendly tip to take the net wrap off the bale. Not good for livestock to ingest, get wound up in their feet, behind ear tags, etc.
Welcome back and you guys bonded so well and did such an amazing job .. appreciate your efforts and hard work for sharing your beautiful sharing adventure documentary updated resume countryside content video .. thanks again
I understand why you walk the isle, I weight 280 and a big pig could lift me up like I weighed 10 pounds. I looked at it this way, I'm two wheel drive and a pig is four wheel drive!
Walking through the pens was a Temple Grandin innovation. It has nothing to do with seeing the pigs better, instead it's so the pigs are fully used to you being inside their pen. When you go to move the pigs there is less stress because they are used to humans being in with them, and with less stress they have a happier ride and are less likely to have stress induced exudate in the meat.
Netwrap is a witch, especially with outdoor stored bales. I tell the cattle (like they understand?) that I have to peel the banana before they can eat it. Not to mention keeping the 🤬wrap out of bearings and spreader beaters.
"I don't like getting chewed on..."! I help with our local 4H Show and Sale every year, that's enough getting chewed on for me each year! Not a complaint, but I understand what you mean. I love helping with the show for the finest young people in the Country!
Great idea ,Tork. I use a similar doo hickey, and its still a pain in the ass. But we do what we do.......Cat ,get with the program ,winter should have snow and cold.....your still a keeper .....
Why didn’t you think before you left the wrap on the bale. Your videos was very informative and very good as for as opening up switches to feed pigs. Horses and cows are a lot different.. did you ever experience one them eating twine. It’s something you won’t forget. I know you’re learning . Also you shouldn’t take a bale out of the middle, you should work from the outside to inside.. but it’s ok. Rather watch more of the pig stuff/ barn talk also. Have a great day❤
2 of the 3 sites have showers. We will if only one of us choring but usually one chores the youngest and the other chores the oldest two sites. Thanks for watching!
If the pit is less than 30” below the slats and or there is foaming going on then yes I probably wouldn’t be grinding away. However, right now there’s only about 24” of manure in that 8’ deep pit. Not a concern.
