I just got a keyboard to use with my Xbox and this guide is super helpful!! Normally I just figure things out by messing around but after hitting ‘M’ I decided to get help lol
For me sizing down and up are Å and ’ Instead of the brackets so it kinda depends on your keyboard aswell on some of these. I also have to press down ”Fn” when using the F(insert number) key’s cause they control some of the settings on my actual pc
Yes correct, this tutorial is for QWERTY keyboards, as soon as you have a non-qwerty keyboard all of this will be different. Since QWERTY is the most widely used I decided to focus on that as a tutorial but I know there are websites who specifically explain other keyboards as well
Awesome Vidoe!! I am a much older Simmer, been playing since The Original Sims, but you never cease to amaze me! I always learn so much when I watch your video's. I can't thank you enough for helping us Simmers learn new things about the game I love so much and when it is said you can't teach an old dog new tricks! Not true! I am proof of that.
hi! so sorry to comment on an older video, but i’ve been having an issue with one of my keyboard shortcuts and i can’t find a solution!! whenever i try to alt place anything or just simply click alt, it doesn’t close my game but it takes me back to my desktop(think that’s called tabbing out idk?)
That sounds super frustrating!! I wish I had any idea how to fix it but I don’t 😅 I do know that to alt out of something you have to also press tab (hence the name alt tabbing). Maybe your tab button is locked and/or permanently clicked causing the alt button to immediately trigger an alt tab?
This is a great video, I’ve been playing for years and didn’t know most of these lol thank you! Oh and I just realized that the keyboard button for each icon is right beside the name when you hover over. For example, when you hover over the “inventory “ icon, it says “Inventory-I” 🤯
So glad I found your channel. Some of these shortcuts I knew, but others I did not. I have downloaded your cheat sheet and since my Game PC is a dedicated game machine anyway, I might just label my keyboard, lol. I play other games on it, but most of my time is spent on Sims (I also have my precious working version of Sims 2 on it).
I remember i tried a shortcut where i flipped a wall object to make it face the wall but i can not for the life of me remember the keybinds/shortcut for it. you wouldn't happen to remember it?😅
Since I cannot think of any other reason - do you perhaps have a non qwerty keyboard? Because everything I explained here is mapped to a qwerty and I know it’s different for other keyboard types
@@Rosannatxt I had to 'look up' what a qwerty keyboard is and yes it's a qwerty keyboard. I don't know if I can add links, so if you 'google' Large Print Computer Keyboard, 104 Keys Wired USB Oversized Big Letters Keyboard, Easy to See and Type, Quiet Keyboard for Visually Impaired Low Vision Individuals, Seniors. That's mine
@@MistyAnime I looked it up and I see it has a numpad on the side. The only thing that I can imagine is that you are using the 9 and the 0 at the right side of the keyboard and not the one above the letters. But if that is not the case then unfortunately I dont know why it doesnt work Im sorry
Do you maybe have a non-qwerty keyboard? These shortcuts only work on a qwerty keyboard and as soon as you have any extra letters or anything on your keyboard (like scandinavian for instance) all of these keybinds switch around
@@Skatergirl.4_LIFEI’m so sorry but I have no idea 😅 To be honest the documentation from the sims themselves is also extremely lacking. What you could to is add a second layout to your keyboard - this makes the keys function differently than was is printed on the board - so you can technically use the azerty as a qwerty. It’s not a perfect solution but will allow you do use these shortcuts without having to buy a qwerty keyboard
I feel like maybe they didn't pick "N" for needs because it's too close to "M" maybe? Just recently switched to PC from Xbox and am so list on the controls. Thank you so much for this video and the list! So helpful!
Thank you for watching the video to determine these percentages, always helps when people watch and comment! extra engagement to push my yapping to more people 🫶🏻
cmd + tab i use to toggle to my desktop, and first person view in live mode is i think tab +shift. there is one for when your game crashes to get to save screen but I forget it.
Aaah thank you!! I’m happy they are helpful 🧡 Unfortunately half walls are very broken. Placing objects on them works the same as any other wall in the game but it just doesn’t t work a lot of the time. They still need to fix that 🥲
You mention you like the Sims 4 camera for gameplay and build with the other at times. I always use the Sims 3 cuz I find it easier to build with. Why do you prefer the Sims 4 one??? Am I missing something vital??? BTW, thanks for the 2 quarter tile shortcuts. I knew them and forget probably several times over =)
Whenever you're on the Sims 3 camera when building you can free rotate things holding alt. This doesn't work on the Sims 4 camera. Next to that the Sims 3 camera allows you to change the angle of which you're viewing the build by holding the middle mouse button allowing you to view your builds differently. All of these things are super nice when building. However, on gameplay, I don't care about either of them and I like the sims 4 camera controls because to me they are a bit easier. But that might be because those were the first I learned when I started playing because I had already forgotten about sims 3 camera controls. Hope this makes sense :)
@@Rosannatxt go to the prefs window by hitting the gear icon on the stream deck app, then go to the profiles tab on the pref window, at the bottom there is a down arrow, push that and choose export
