Took me longer than I'd like to figure out why you could be in the shower, singing, and also getting footage from around your place at the same time. Then I remembered editing was a thing. I need more coffee.
as someone who doesn’t have many friends who they can hang out with in real life, watching this felt comforting. additionally, you’re mesmerizing and witty and i could watch your vlogs for hours
This video was comforting because I dont have many friends, so I just have to spend my summer in solace and solitude. Which I dont really mind, but it gets boring and lonesome after a while.
5:40 I haven't read "Women who run with the wolf" yet but this book is featured as an easter egg in a bollywood movie called "Highway", written & directed by Imtiaz Ali. The movie is about a woman who belongs to a wealthy family, gets (mistakenly) kidnapped by truck drivers, but she refuses to return to her home. The ending will shock you.
Your videos are so addicting, in a way. The way you film, your aesthetic and everything is just so beautiful. You're quite literally my inspiration when I write :)
Hey, just some Polish literature recommendations: Stanisław Ignacy Witkiewicz aka Witkacy, Halina Poświatowska, Maria Pawlikowska-Jasnorzewska, Anna Świrszczyńska, Witold Gombrowicz, Bruno Schulz, Wisława Szymborska, Jacek Podsiadło, Marcin Świetlicki [Świetliki (his music band)].
I've been skeptic about Women Who Run With the Wolves so I never picked it up despite seeing it at this one store here. I was super excited to hear your thoughts about it (looking forward to more thoughts in the monthly wrap up!)
You are my favorite channel on this whole platform. I don’t even read novels that often, I just love how sincere you are and how aesthetically pleasing your videos are. You’re one of the only RU-vidrs who I feel like is directly talking to the viewer and not the audience as a whole, I’m absolutely enamored. Thank you, Dakota.
You also make beautiful videos. 💛 This book of Clarissa was very important to me at a very hard time in my life. It helped me to be strong when I had to accept that something had ended. I have a book club for 5 years! Happy readings with yours! Greatings from Brazil!
Women Who run with the Wolves sounds like an interesting book even if someone doesn't how to read as I think the theme requires imagination rather than understanding - I've never found this book in my local bookstore. For me, anyone who attends a school, university and an entry-level job, their first thing to do is only reading and writing. You have lots of creative potential.
I’m halfway through my physical copy of Woman who run with the wolves, but I’ve listened to the (very, very abridged) audio book and loved it. Estes narrates it and her voice is so angelic it’s like someone whispering you lullabies!
Women Who Run with the Wolves is brilliant. It's good to read before bed as it gives you interesting dreams. I also loved The Collector so much growing up. So chilling. Several real-life serial killers have cited that book as 'inspiring' them. I have the 1960s film here starring Terence Stamp and Samantha Eggar but still have to watch it and I can't imagine it will come near the book. Miranda forever.
i'm also reading women who run with the wolves! it's absolutely brilliant, i've cried a lot so far tho i suppose that's fairly unsurprising considering the content
Sorry, so what is your job, exactly Because my reaction to the title was "i would too, but i have a job" And it's noisy and very people-y, so the quirky romantic adventures of eleanor squigglypopps in rural england of xix century just won't take hold in my exhausted and depressed head So what do you do?
You gotta do something about the clutter Dakota, those towers of endless books read and unread stacked like bricks one on top the other. You know, give yourself some breathing space to write and to read and to move around a bit. A little "self-care" routine won't hurt😀Sweet dreams indeed!
