The chemistry they had together was amazing. It never seemed to dissipate, even when their marriage did. When they appeared for the last time on Letterman in 1987, that chemistry was still there same as ever.
@@hperd1 Better let Cher know that they hated each other! There are many videos of her (many on YT) where she says the contrary. She said in one video that Sonny was controlling but that's because he was Italian (her words).
They seemed like soulmates connected regardless of where they went, or who they were with... That became even more apparent when Cher eulogized Sonny at his memorial service.
I can't believe I used to watch these shows, Sonny & Cher, Donny & Marie, Tony Orlando & Dawn, The Captain & Tennille - what a gag-fest. The 70's was wall-to-wall variety shows.
I used to think they were the perfect couple. As a boy, they made me laugh and I wanted to be them when I grew up. I was grown up and on my own when I heard, one day on the radio, that they divorced and it hurt me. And years later, when Sonny died in a skiing accident, I was devastated. I learned then, that nothing is forever.
Сонни ироничный, насмешливый и элегантный. Безусловно первый номер в дуэте. Шер просто красотка. И в каждой совместной песни видно насколько они близки друг с другом. Смотрят влюбленными глазами друг на друга
Yes, actually it wasn't horrible. It was fun seeing him up there next to performance greatness, swaying to the vibe, holding his own. Very cool to see this again. First time for me since it aired early 70s.
They were so good together. Cher especially came out of her shell and became so open and a highly creative performer at this point in her and his lives. I think Sonny helped Cher become so strong as a person/woman/performer, that even after they split up, and he passed on tragically, she was able to be a success all on her own.
My favorite duo and i never missed an episode of their variety show...they had the magic together!!!!!And Cher's voice and beauty have withstood time :-)
you prolly dont care but if you guys are bored like me atm then you can stream all the latest movies on InstaFlixxer. Been streaming with my gf during the lockdown :)
Роскошные люди, зажигательный дуэт. Жаль, что пара распалась. Грустно, что Сонни Боно рано ушёл из жизни. Царство ему небесное. Ну а Шер, дальнейших творческих успехов!!!
I love their singing, but I think a huge part of the success of the Sonny & Cher show was being able to look at Cher. TV is a visual medium, and she was just so nice to look at . . . so glamorous. She had the IT factor, which not too many people have. You kind of can't take your eyes off of her.
...why not!? ..here's the Top Ten Pop singles when this tune peaked at #7 Pop, Dec.1971; It also was their 1st Top 10 since "The Beat Goes On", & their 1st... and ONLY... #1 AC hit... (CONT.) 10. Hey Girl - Donny Osmond 9. Cherish - David Cassidy 8. Scorpio - Dennis Coffey 7. **All I Ever Need Is You** - Sonny & Cher 6. Have You Seen Her? - Chi- Lites 5. Got To Be There - Michael Jackson 4. An Old Fashioned Love Song - Three Dog Night 3. American Pie - Don McLean 2. Family Affair - Sly & The Family Stone 1. Brand New Key - Melanie
Never missed a TV show...so sad they could not work out their demons. There was a love there that most NEVER feel. I am fortunate to have the love of my life still be with me after over 27 years.
Did you notice the songs they sung reflected love for each other? Even after they divorced. I think the flame was still burning between them. I think Sonny was Cher's one and only true love. Sonny still had that look in his eye for Cher too
@@jat6547According to Cher, she left him because he was cheating on her financially. They were supposed to split the finances 50/50. But Sonny was getting 90 percent of the money and Cher got nothing. Not sure who got the 10 percent.. She tried to work it out with him, but he refused
On this day in 1971 {December 27th} 'The Sonny and Cher Comedy Hour' began its 4 and a half year regular-season run on the CBS-TV network, the duo earned a regular season slot due to their successful summer replacement show earlier in the year... At the time their "All I Ever Need Is You" was at #11 on Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart, the week before it was at #7, and that was also its peak position on the Top 100... And also at the time Cher's eighth solo record, "Gypsys, Tramps, and Thieves", was at #25 on the Top 100... Between 1965 and 1973 the duo had eighteen Top 100 records; five made the Top 10 with one reaching #1, "I Got You Babe" for three weeks on August 8th, 1965...
Thanks for posting this and also for posting the date that it aired. Can't help but smile watching them sing this together but I can't help but feel sad becuase of how things turned out between them and the tragic loss of Sonny.
@@huda2379 ten they should be more careful on who they choose to marry. Sometimes it is better to wait than to jump into a relationship because of the sex. Big mistake!
How come only 4000 people have watched this video? this should be he #1 on youtube! some of the greatest moments of pop-history in this video. Check out the transition around 2:00 to 2.20!
On this day in 1969 {March 4th} Cher gave birth to Chastity/Chaz Bono; Sonny and Cher Bono’s only child... At the time Sonny and Cher did not have a record on Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart*; it would be a little over two years and seven months later on October 10th, 1971 before they would enter the Top 100 again; that was with "All I Ever Need Is You", it would peak at #7... * But a month before "All I Need Is You" had entered the Top 100, Cher entered the chart on September 12th with "Gypsys, Tramps, and Thieves", and on Halloween it peaked at #1 {for 2 weeks} and spent 16 weeks on the Top 100...
+sauquoit13456 This song, "All I Ever Need Is You," was also Sonny and Cher's single of greatest longevity, spending 15 weeks on the US Billboard Hot 100. An excellent song! :)
