I've been playing this for 40 years and never knew he dropped the high E. Right on!

SMH, been watching your videos for a long, long time... and I'd just like to say again how amazing it is how you figure out the nuance to all these songs. Plus, that you've done it without monetizing all these years. So much gratitude to you, sir.

Great lesson, love this version. I think that Frampton is highly underrated as lead guitarist, his licks are so cool and unique, not just pentatonic stuff

+Shtan That's the Django Reinhard and Wes Montgomery influences coming through in Peter's playing. He's always had a different sensibility than the usual rock players from the classic rock era. It's why I love his playing.

You're exactly right! Peter's playing is more jazzy to me, while the most of guitarists of that period seemed to be more bluesy

James James, Thanks for posting this. I was looking to relearn this song. One thing that drove me a bit crazy. In searching for the lyrics I found that most, if not all lyric sites have the wrong lyric, they write "I wish there was a pill for that' you're on your own" WRONG!! The correct lyric is "I'm SURE there IS a pill for that, you're on your own". To those that know the meaning behind this song, it makes a huge difference. Thanks for the refresher course... :)

Thanks for this one! Frampton was on with Stern last week, played acoustics with Gordon Kennedy. Absolutely amazing guitar work. Do You Feel Like We do was jaw dropping. Find it if you can. Has acoustic CD coming out. Such a solid dude.

Good Job! I learned this song off the record when I was about 15yrs old but something was always missing. It wasn't until years later, I listened again with a more mature ear and heard the high E tuned to D. I was like "That's why it always sounded kinda like a 12 string yet not a 12 string!". Kids just don't know how lucky they are to have youtube for tutorials and to watch hand positions from several live shows. We would've killed for that back in the day. Rock On Bro!

Saw him in I think 77 in Louisville toward the tail end of Frampton maina. He gave an exceptional performance. Bob Mayo was sick that evening, but the band didn't miss a beat. True professionals.

you tell a good tale when explaining the science behind the subtle chord changes and addition ones pretty partial myself to adding little own flavor at times long as it sounds semi authentic to the original ones interpretation can still run along it thanks really enjoying your shit bro

I watched him from the first row in Nashville back in March. He played that C chord the same way you do everytime, except for the first one in the intro, before the lyrics start.

U have been, by a mile, the best guitar teacher on RU-vid for me. Not boring. Very knowledgeable. Good sense of humor. I really do thank you from the bottom of my heart. F uck the haters!
