I bought this last week and I'm still waiting for it. Few years ago I bought a nazgul 5 inch and boy that was a mistake to try and get into fpv with a full blown freestyle. Now I will practice on this one and hopefully graduate to the 5 incher
You made good choice to start 1s-2s tinywhoop like this drone after nazgul :) I was started with mantis85 2s and did crashed/repaired it soo many times. Now I'm flying 4s 5inch custom. I definitely recommend you to play simulator from time to time on pc.
You can calibrate the level flight and laser altitude hold and put it into pro configuration through the menu in the headset. With everything powered up and a video feed in the headset, Hold controller and Left Stick= Full left yaw, Right Stick= Full pitch down (stick all the way up) simultaneously. This will access the configuration menu displayed in headset use sticks for direction and enter. Save and exit. Power cycle ( remove/replace battery) and should be golden. Also, what seems to be prop wash is actually ( I’ve recreated it every time) is the 1.5mm shaft of a motor or two (depending on direction of flight) actually spinning inside the boss of the propeller. A ton of heat transfers to that shaft and the tiny motors are so powerful the shaft spins under high load. Remove the props and cut some splines in the shaft, new props and it’ll shit and get. Have fun!!
come on thats a bit unfair its like comparing a racing kart to a formula one car we all have to start somewhere. I really enjoyed the review it has convinced me to get into fpv by getting one of these kits thank you 👍👍
I know you can use the cable, there’s no way to get a standard strap on there to hold the batteries to the drone though. Tape is not going to last lmao.
So what’s the difference between this and a Cetus Pro other than the better VR03 goggles you get from an X? They seem identical in spec other than the proprietary batteries
Was my First fpv Drohne and its nice to get into it, but what I really hate is the cam Connection.. dont know how many times I have to Open it and reconnect After a Crash.. and Beginners (and this set is for beginners) Crashes a lot
I would add the following: the Aquila16 copter is designed only for the BETAFPV Configurator and for the remote controller that comes in the kit, which means that if someone has another remote controller with ELRS, then you won’t be able to customize the copter for yourself in Betaflight and therefore not all modes will work . There is no boozer, the search for a copter is in question. For an apartment, you can’t turn off the air mode, it will stick to the walls and fall where you will disarm it in order to unstuck. There is also regular self-disarming, i.e. turns off whenever it wants. The quality of the fpv camera sucks even for an analogue one. The battery is detached when the copter falls or hits an obstacle. The design is beautiful, but the quality is slag. If to buy it then only as a kit, why would I need the kit if I have good glasses and RC. I just bought a copter and got these unexpected troubles. I don’t see the point in paying such money for that kit.
SD is not just turtle you can use it to scroll through the different frequency bands to the drone is on. There needs to be a video that focuses on how to pair this drone to the goggles and controller etc as there is a LOT of confusion out there.
you can use the batteries you have!!! use the adaptor they provide and connect it the other way around. use double sided tape to stay on and you are good to go. see cpt. drone how he did it with the batteries.
is it possible to use remote control and googles for other drones later? i would like to start with a kit like this, but then build my own drone with gps, etc on my 3d printer. would be cool to be able to reuse remote and googles
I'm waiting for my replacement from Amazon to arrive today, had this drone for about 2 weeks then outta nowhere, it'll fly great for a minute or two, then descend to about two inches off the ground, and will not fly any higher than that?? 😑 Super bummed, I did the recalibration for the drone, made sure batteries were good and fully charged. It has plenty of power, not getting the low vol signal in the goggles or anything, just won't fly higher than a couple inches off the ground, maybe it could be fixed, in fact I'm sure it could, but I just bought this thing and paid good money for it, I shouldn't have to "Fix" anything this early on, so I ordered a replacement, if it happens again with this one, I'll probably go for the Cetus X brushless instead, same price as this kit, can use multiple brand batteries, not like the proprietor battery that works with the Aquila 16, and you get the radio lite 3 with the Cetus X, with the Aquila 16 you get radio lite 2, I'm not even sure what any of that means, I'm brand new to this stuff, but I do know what I like and what I don't like, and i definitely don't like having to wait for another drone to arrive because the one i already have won't work 2 weeks after i got it..😑 All in all tho, great drone, I'm hoping I just got a lemon with the last one and the one coming today will last me for a very long time, I'm ready to get some FPV flying in, hopefully the Amazon truck gets here soon, it's already after 7am 😂
looks like it flys well but the video looks like its recording like its a 1980s vcr. Why is the video so shaky and all the video jump and static/snow like visuals?
Thanks for the review. I’m new to FPV and need a beginner kit but I can’t be doing with crappy video quality. Is there a digital equivalent that you would recommend I take a look at?
I tried connecting my controller to the PC and it had driver issue right away. I tried looking for driver on the website and seems like there's no any solution for this issue.
Just received it as my first fpv drone. Im going to gain flying fpv skills slas Ive been always flying cinematic drones and this looknas a good replacement for my mavic and mini 3pro for a winter time. Just got anquestion. Ive used to intelligent batteries from dji... Now this aquila has batteries that dont have any storage mode. How should I harge them for long storage?
@@benedict_fpv looks good and well made. I didnt try it outdoors yet but have a few bangs on the wall and drone still looks new:) My only concern is the supplied charger. Dont think supplied wires can survive lots of charges:)
If you plan on flying in manual/acro I assume it will perform better than the 1100mah that I used. I wish I could say yes, but unfortunately I havent tested it out
I've owned a few solid DJIs in the past few years and have been spoiled with amazing video out of the box... with that, I simply wanna know if the video recorded via the camera that's already a part of the drone, is as poor of quality as it seems? It looks like you may have put a filter over it but I genuinely can't tell. Thanks in advance!
@@TRONCATFPV gotcha! I appreciate the info. You have any recommendation on a rtf kit that can do some solid speed and stunt flying but can still be solid to learn on?
Soup bois. I'm wanting to build my first drone (I'm a nerd and like tinkering, and after watching several build videos it looks doable for me) and was wondering if there was a decent combo of a controller and headset, or if those were something I'd have to buy separately? Can I more or less get any controller or headset and it/they would work with the drone I put together, or is there some protocol or whatever that I need to match between controller/headset and drone? Thankee
no offence but if you don't know the differences between the Vtxs and Rtxs available maybe keep researching. Headsets aren't linked to the controller (the transmitter) at all. they're dependent on the camera thats used. Most of them and the more affordable one is analogue. Any headset is likely to work with any camera used, just use the same band. Controller wise, just get a controller set that has a Rtx with is so you don't mix it up. that way you can just buy a the same Rtx for any new drones you want to build after. Digital headsets and cameras are very expensive and DJI is the main company selling them, upside is you get much better video quality from the onboard camera but if you're going to use a gopro then theres no point imo. When hooking it all up, use the manual on your ESC and flight controller board to make sure its all wired up correctly
Hey tron. I am brand spanking new to drones. I’ve always been interested, but last night was the first night I actually sat down, watched videos, and surfed web pages. I’m pretty set on this bundle. I watched your video. But I have a few questions I think you may have said in the video, but I want to ask and make sure. These goggles and controller will work with any other drone out there? I want to be able to use this headset and controller with future drones, not just betafpv drones. Thanks
Hope this helps: Any controller can be paired to any drone and any analog system goggles can be paired to any analog video system, if you have more questions ask me
No, you cannot lift a GoPro on a drone this size. If you're just looking for better video transmission quality look into digital FPV bind and fly kits. They will be about $1000 more expensive than this
This is what an FPV analog video feed looks like. Granted the camera on this drone isn’t the best by any means, you can get higher quality analog cameras that will produce a better image. For the best image quality you’ll need to go digital with walksnail or DJI.
How does this compare with the Cetus X / Pro? From the little I've seen I think either of them are better options, was hoping to see them at least mentioned...
This one has a longer flight time of 8 minutes, Cetus Pro has 4-5 minutes. And also has the optical flow sensor that allows for position hold lower to the ground.
@@danieltrejo2588 + the Cetus X uses a ELRS Controller, which has much better Range and u can use it for almost any BNF Drone, just choose the option "ELRS 2,4GHZ"
I have both quads and the Tinyhawk 3+ freestyle HD is heaps better ! The Aquila is a good cheap quad to get you started but is very limited in performance and video quality !
It’s analog because in the beginning of the hobby that was the only video system that had low enough latency and was easy to get into a drone until HD. Now analog is considered a more budget option.
Yes It is,if you want to buy another Drone, just buy it with ELRS 2,4GHZ. (keep in mind that the range of this Controller is limited, i recommend the Radiomaster Pocket as a very good, not expensive Radio/Controller)
genuinly i think you should not be cheap if you want to get an fpv drone if you want an fpv drone and you know your going to stick to the hobby get a dji avata or a good branded drone with good vr goggles
I really couldn't disagree more. If you were thinking of getting into videography, would you go out and buy an Arri Alexa to start? No, you wouldn't. You'd find a used DSLR kit that comes with everything you need and you'd make sure you know what you're doing first. C'mon now.
I bought one because I want to get into fpv. I want to be sure I am able to fly one first as I have nerve damage to one hand. If things go well I will then spend a few grand on digital video and high quality controller, along with a few drones, batteries, chargers etc. Even with the poor image quality it still offers an opportunity to step foot in the hobby without fully jumping in and buying a bunch of these I don't need or use.
@@megatron187a full kit? I've only found 3 different brands with beginner kits from my research the cetus x kit is the best at around $300 and it's a 2s
I just don't get the reason of making a 1.6 inch cinewhoop being analog. Ok, it's a beginner drone, but why not just put a let's say 2.5 inch regular cinewhoop in, that can at least handle a camera? It's not optimal for rancing, nor for freestyle and can't record cinewhoop stuff. So I think that buying the cetus x kit or something like that would be a better investment. The tune seems kinda bad, ngl. (The review seemed kinda biast, but I do not want to hate on Troncat. I love you man❤)
I think it's for dummies like me to practice on so we don't hurt someone or destroy our more expensive quads. I would rather fly something cheap and relatively tough to break, than my nazgul freestyle or my cloud 149 cinewhoop
Not everyone necessarily wants to film with FPV drones, or even do freestyle or racing. Some people just want to fly FPV for the experience. And in that case, all-in-one kits like this are perfect. I always do my best to remain unbiased when testing products and tell it how it is. Yes, the tune on this thing is pretty rough from my outdoor testing.
@@TRONCATFPV I had this lofty goal to film my fpv experience with my Gopro hero 7 black but luckily I was at least smart enough to try flying without it. Here it is years later and I finally got the itch again.
