Bearing
When there is a relative motion between two machine parts, one of which supports the other, the supporting member is called Bearing. It's is very important part of any machine.
Functions of bearing:-
It's bears the load. Bearings must be capable of bearing dead as well as live load of the machine.
It locates the moving part in correct position and doesn't allow the axis if shaft to move in either direction..Friction bearings can be integrally machines, one-piece sleeve, or split-sleeve for easy installation and removal. An antifriction bearing is a bearing that contains moving elements to provide a low friction support surface for rotating or sliding surfaces.
It minimizes unnecessary motion of shaft by keeping its clearance between bearing and shaft
It provides free motion to the moving part by reducing Friction. More friction consumes more power, which generates more heat, wear and tear in machine.
