i worked with one of the most renowned breeders in poodle dogs around the world in dogs some colors use to have more quality than others, and they are also the most famous beetwen people since the begining of time, like white and black poodles, or the fawn of brindle great danes, or gold and black cockers, have the most quality and were allways prefered by people but this man with i used to work used his quality black to get another marginal colors with the same quality as a personal challeng, but it took at least 3-4 generations and experience of 35 years breeding champions. and he was beginin with some of his already champions.. and everything its money when you live of this and the level people expect from you is so high, for sure you one expert breeder can get champions in any color if they like, but in fishes who has many components as the size of the scales or the place the spots are places you just cant mix a champion kohaku with any color, i see in dogs an interesting side of some top breeders who are almost bored of allways won who does things like this and take a personal project and does something like that taking a marginal color animal and taking in to the best they can... but its something not available for everybody, becaus of money and experience and some things wich only visible for a super expert eye , anyone could try ... but others with their kohakus and showas are centuries ahead you but for sure can be done.
