As a DRK main, it doesn’t matter what change will come to our class, we shall struggle, endure, and contend, for that alone is the sword of one who defies fate. For Miura.
As a BLM main, the new action is simply an opportunity for me to bring the meme to the next evolution by moving my leylines out of satefy and into the AOEs.
The Pictomancer is such a creative idea for a job. I’m looking forward to trying it out! The animations are gorgeous & the concept is so freakin’ cool - really hope it plays as nicely as it looks.
Honestly as a bard main I just want an AOE dot. Someone mentioned to me that they could change iron jaws to work like deployment tactics and I would actually love that. 😭
for ast, classic square taking away an old ability with sleeve draw, just to bring it back and make it seem new and fresh xD ... still excited to play my 2 favorite healers; ast and sch :D
Streamlining doesn't necessarily mean oversimplification. And unnecessary complexity doesn't mean depth either. If these changes allow them to design tighter encounters because players no longer need to fight unintuitive buttons, then I'm all for it.
I really hope they dont dumb the game down into being boring, that seems to be the direction of most game companies because they want to make games more accessible for less hardcore players. I feel like its a journey though, you build upon your own skills, its not a giant skill leap.
Complains that DRG change is dumbing down the game, but then praises changes with similar "dumbing down" effects like RDM manafication and BLM mana regen just shows your bias. imo they are all good changes. making the game more casual-friendly / sprout-friendly helps keep the game alive and allows for the development of the more challenging content in the long run.
If they really want to give summoner some cool flare make the 3 summons you get based on the super summon you use. Bahumut = Ifrit/Titan/Garuda; Phoenix=Shiva/Ramuh/Leviathan; Solar Bahumut=Sephirot/Sophia/Zurvan.
they really need to pull back on DPS classes and drop more Tank and Healers to balance the jobs better I mean we got 40 DPS classes and 4-5 healers and tanks
I don't like directionals because I like to be able to turn my brain off and enjoy the game without having to think too much. And I don't like when games sacrifice simplicity and ease of play to appease hardcore players who only care about difficulty and having some sense of pride that they are good at a video game. I also don't like leaving my maximum damage output in the hands of the tank, where if they suddenly move and turn the boss I miss my directional.
I main MNK. I'm fine with the new changes, of what we were just able to glean from the preview anyway. Obviously, we'll still need to see how it all fits within the framework of other jobs in the party going apeshit with their new changes. But for now as is, my body is ready. 😅
I also agree with the directionals issue. Specially in endwalker, I hated that even if your tank had the boss positioned, the boss would run to the center and reset its position and its attacks area, messing a lot (in my opinion) with the directionals. Aaaand I hope that they improve a lot the quality of life of BLM. I think the BLM population has decreased a lot also because of enemies moving a lot and mechanics needed you also to move a lot, also getting all of the insta-spell abilities drained and waiting for recast, messing with the rotation 😮I constantly lost enochian because of that.
I don't main blm but maybe a way to adress it is to make them the only class to not take the debuff from taking a boss atack? That way i feel maybe they would have a better synergy of sorts with shield healers to just beff them up to tank the aoes and do more damage i already do when i get a blm in my team but it gets hard the more vuln stacks they accumulate xD
So, they made zero changes to the leg and foot graze role actions -- which are arguably the most useless actions in the game no matter what content you're playing -- and they only made the most barebone minimal QOL changes for bard. Sometimes I wonder why they keep designing all these huge and strong bows for a job that still feels like dancer with a different coat of paint.
The homogenization and simplification of FF14 is one of the most insidious ways that FF14 is being killed ironically by Yoshi P himself. In pursuit of what? That "ACTION MMO" feel? Square Enix's infatuation with making every game action-packed, and not be slow and methodically as their strength has been, has already been destroying the brand for over a decade now. The only thing keeping Square Enix afloat is nostalgia, lack of AAA JRPG competition, and incessant predatory monetization. So to see Yoshi P adopt this mindset as well is an ill omen for the long term future of FF14.
@@craigtrish2011 I liked finding creative ways to use the other cards from early astro. Tree for tanks during pulls, arrow to watch monks cry about TP drain (lol), ewer for my own mp, spire for that poor monk I gave arrow to, and spire for whoever seemed to hit hardest for more crit. I miss stormblood ast and only take it to level cap anymore.
Agreed, but keep them for Monk. Directionals suck in this game, none of the fights are designed with it in mind. Bosses will randomly change their direction so abruptly, it ruins your bonus dmg mid hit. Can't true north prior as you don't know it's coming. It's so annoying, thedevs will make some bosses a full circle so can ignore them entirely which defeats the purpose of them existing at all.
