I wouldn’t pay much attention to the Celtics broadcast team. I put them on mute 5 minutes into the game because they sound like the kid down the street who gets stuffed into a trash can. Not a Celtics fan by any means but if that’s the best a franchise with their history can do for a broadcast team then it’s a real shame.

I don't know how you can be a scapegoat when you played like absolute ass. Russ was like not even a 10th of the player he was for Washington. I watched all those games. Russ was one of the main reasons we lost so many games with his deflating bad shot decisions and ridiculous turnovers he was almost single-handedly why we were not even a play in team. I don't even think Russ was a bad fit. He just needed to limit his turnovers ( he didn't) and make shots (he didn't). It could have been great if Russ played up to his value of a 45 million dollar superstar. Being called Westbrick and fans booing him and coach benching him was all because he couldn't get his shit together and played like ass and was ignorant in the process. Russ is a legend and always will be but that stint with the Lakers tainting him was all him. All that time with his family living in LA made him too comfortable.

I agree with all you are saying. My question is this though: Say you are the Lakers and your two franchise players come to you. They then both say we have been talking with Westbrook and planning and we want this trade. Do you say no? Can you really afford to say no? What if the result is that both players ask to be traded if you do not do the trade? Do you say no, can you? I know technically the answer is yes, yes you can. My question is for the sake of your franchise do you do that if they both leave if you do? Can you afford to. I think the answer to that question will give some clarity to amount of blame on what sides. IMO if AD and Bron said do this trade or else then they do not really have a choice but to do that trade, one they did not want to do. So to me it depends on how much pressure AD and Bron put on the front office. There is an amount of pressure they could have put that would have practically(not literally) tied the Lakers hands and in that case, imo, the front office would be less to blame then the players. We will likely never know the answer to that question though so we have to out of lack of info blame everyone equally. I do think that Russ got a little more then his share of the blame, but he certainly wasn't blameless.
