Disney has always had an issue with linear story driven cartoons dating all the way back to the Disney Afternoon shows of the nineties. And that sucks, because it really held back some of those stories.
Yeah, with things like Disney+, following along the story is especially easy now so there’s not really much reason for there not to be more story driven shows
@@sadlobster1 the funny thing is for most story driven shows, you’d be able to get familiar with the story just from the intro. Like for example, Amphibia, the girls find the music box, get teleported to Amphibia and the story is told from Anne’s perspective. Simple as that. But people still don’t wanna put faith in story driven shows just because of their rewatchability
Yeah, they're just like Princess Bubblegum/Marceline (Adventure Time), Lapis Lazuli/Peridot (Steven Universe), and even Harley Quinn/Poison Ivy (Harley Quinn Show).
Yep the 18 yr old amity design has to be the best one. I was not a huge fan of the purple hair , especially with the brown star but I love this new one (also luz’s new design and her titan design is top tier)
1:34 That was the best Lumity kiss of all, but it was a blessing to see their second kiss on the lips from the right angle 3:02 Long live the girlfriends 💜💙❤️🔥💜💙❤️🔥💘💘🎆🎆🎆🔥😭
I just want to point out that Luz has gotten a little taller. In season one she was like an inch shorter than Amity but in season three it looks the other way around
Legitimately the best written sapphic romance arc in children's television so far!!! Thank you Dana and crew for bringing them to life with your talent, you and this show will always have a special place in our hearts 💖💖.
@@420sakura1 Thank you for mentioning this cause that anime has been sitting on my watch list for three literal years and it's about damn time I give it a try.
Fun thing about that. Rae Geiger, lead character designer for She-Ra, said in their head canon that exchanging jewelry of any kind was a sign of being in a committed relationship, so they had Spinnerella and Netossa trade necklaces because that was their way of telling the audience, "Yes, these two are together!" This continued throughout the series, including Adora and Catra near the end. Now watch the ending scenes of Owl House and notice Luz is wearing Amity's necklace...
Because bully characters in cartoons rarely go beyond the one dimensional bully character. (Helga from Hey Arnold) It's nice to see one who got a good redemption arc (kinda), and forms a relationship with the main girl. Wanted this canon in The Witch academia (anime) but it never happened. Yay Disney (ig)
So what did we learn from Amity’s character development ladies and gentlemen: don’t try to make your kids (if you have any) exactly like you and let them choose their friends
I seriously don’t know how anyone could watch this and say that the whole romance between Luz and Amity isn’t thee best romance depicted in a kids show ever.
@@Kidney_failure I saw the news in a video, apparently Dana said it's a possibility. I'll link the video here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-30sfY1mi88s.html
You want to drag this like Simpsons, Fairy odd parents and continue for ever? 3 seasons is a good number to tell a good story. Plus the plot and the world building is not that deep.
Okay I cannot be the only one who thought about NSAF and her purple/short haired friend due to the confetti and NSAF has yet to post her reaction. But yeah. I can't wait to see her scream in lumity joy 🤣
@@XXdarkXwolf17X Due to the situation with her grandmother/abuela, NSAF will DEFINITELY need a pick-me-up. Which reminds me...somebody's gotta send her a Stringbean plushie; which have ACTUALLY become a real thing, thanks to Kickstarter
Do you think that in the future, Dana terrace will make a movie about The owl house? You know, I want to know how Luz learns the new glyph language. In addition, there were several things that were not resolved. But even if it is a very low probability, I hope that one day they will make a movie of this series
Well Dana left Disney which reduces the odds of it happening quite a lot unfortunately, but who knows. The future is always up in the air. I just hope to avoid the cringy live action Owl House timeline.
@@MasterArchfiend I thought Dana is currently working on "Hailey's On It" (HOI) which is a part of Disney. And I'm guessing a graphic novel of The Owl House could happen 8-12 or more months after the finale OR after season 1 of HOI is finished. Gravity Falls got its own graphic novel and Amphibia is recently going to get one.
Lumity forever I love their relationship the enemies to lovers trope!💙💜P.S I just realized that they are the only couple that have the most kisses in the show.
Gracias internet & RU-vid por seguir publicando escenas de mi pareja animada favorita ahora que terminó la serie estos vídeos acaban con mi depresión 😭😁😉😍
There's something special about these two and it took me a while to figure out what it was. I'm an acespec man who genuinely finds most romantic sub-plot gag inducing or uninteresting and yet I'm pretty ride and die for these two. So what makes them click? Well I've identified three core components that separates Luz and Amity from a lot of other TV romance sub-plots. 1) The initiation of the relationship happens in the midway section of the story, instead of the end. Amity is not Luz's reward for completing her character arc and actualizing her personality like it is in many other stories, it's a critical stepping stone in the development of both characters. Which leads me to my next point. 2) They are mutually supportive. Along with good examples of communication and respect for boundaries and consent, Luz and Amity also help each other with their problems. Usually in romance sub-plots one character acts as the other character's therapist, basically being there to fix their problems. In the worst case neither character helps the other, instead they get into constant fights about how their problems are bigger than their partners. 3) They like each other. This one seems almost like a no-duh but so many characters who are in romances can barely stand each other and are there just because they think the other person is hot. From a certain perspective this choice makes sense because it creates drama, but it also makes the audience wonder why these two are together in the first place? Luz and Amity like each other, they enjoy being around each other, seeing each other makes their days better and their lives brighter. You get excited to see them together because they are excited to be together.
I love these two so much. I don't know why but I wanted the last kiss we saw between the two, to be on the lips. I don't know why, I just feel like it would've been a little more satisfying. But the ending was still amazing, we got everything we wanted. Luz gets to go to the Demom Realm and Human Realm, Luz and Amity are together, Eda and Raine are together, Willow and Hunter are together. The finale was just beautiful. I'm so glad they all got to tell us goodbye after all this time😢
@@KoyjaEdits but they could have done better with the show they could have revealed more details about Luz's neighborhood and hometown from Earth dive into Belos Past and even reveal who Luz's father is or was?
@@christophermaccool8029 I heard it from another Owl house youtuber, apparently Dana herself confirmed that it is a possibility. I'll link the video here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-30sfY1mi88s.html
@@bearcat2183 have you ever watched the anime Bloom Into You? If you haven't, I TOTALLY recommend you start watching it (the anime adapts the first half of the manga, so I recommend you to keep reading what comes after). The couple is Yuu x Touko, the two main characters from that show.
i haven't watch the owl house for 2 years...then watching many about lumity videos,i kinda regret it.also its so cute and adorable and its not deserved to be canceled
What Disney created what great except it was a big mistake for them to kill season 3 of the show plus Lumity was one of the best things that happened in the show which we all won’t forget
*(sweetly sighs)* If only the show ended on a grandiose Bonesborough Library wedding (helps that the place not only was their very first "unconventional date" location, but also neatly looks like a church), as a Disney Channel answer to Cartoon Network's Steven Universe's "Reunion". Barring that, mayhaps it should have ended with them happily raising a biological child (preferably a daughter) of theirs, born out of either magically induced pregnancy (not that fond of IVF measures, since that means the child having a third pseudo-parent) or perhaps an artificial womb machine/cloning vat (which could explain how Willow Park was born from two fathers).
3:00 this is the only time that amity picks luz up. All the other times Luz lifts amity up with no effort and even does some twirls while lifting amity. Kinda shows that Luz is physically stronger than amity
Without a doubt, Lumity succeeded in an LGBTQ+ kiss in a kid animated show where other lead characters before them could not succeed. (animated shows for adults don’t count as they are their own)
i remember going balistic the first time amity blushed around luz, when that episode first premiered.... to think we've come so far. I really hope we get a spin-off of this world. I miss them so much already
Me too. I thought I'd be fine at first, but now that it's really sunk in.. I'm not okay. Best thing to do is to stay hopeful that we will get a spin-off!
