Video idea: The Indian massacre / valentine curse. Out of all the mysteries it is the most likely to be in the game, judging by the evidence. Gang members mention it in camp, dude at the bar talks about it, a traveler tells a story about it and theres a newspaper article. Talks of indian graves, eagles and owls, ghost canoes, crying at night, a map and treasure. Id like to know any history, connections or evidence from the game files on whether its been cut or not.

3:12 Has anyone considered that the Strange Man himself is the one that gives and takes honor? In RDR1 John makes a statement about not being held responsible for his actions to which the Strange Man responds, “oh but you will. You will be responsible”. This line could be referring to the fact that even if nobody is there to see it you are still held responsible for your decisions whether that be gaining or losing honor. This isn’t the only time. I don’t remember the other time but Strange Man does bring up Marston’s morality on another occasion. There is even a poem written in his shack that is dependent on a choice you make in the game where you either do the honorable or dishonorable thing. I personally believe that is Strange Man’s purpose. He keeps track of your honor and he takes and gives it as necessary.

The fortune teller feels so alive like she doesn’t seem malicious but she does have incredible clairvoyance and the sheer fact that even she is afraid of the Strange Man it’s almost as if he can see her wherever she is

I just thought she was describing the places she saw when travelling in RDO. Then I found out it's from GTAO and my mind was blown.

I love cross game references like this. This sends some sweet chills.

The way she talks is like a Lost Soul remembering all she had seen with fondness, the way she talked about the Lupins felt like she misses them and the way she talked about the Man In Black felt creepy.

The one where she talks about judgment descending from the clouds, that’s a gta reference bc after she says that and you go outside you get hit by an air strike, and the one about avoiding even the smallest misdemeanor could be considered both because after hearing that fortune in gta, if you commit any sort of crime, even knocking someone out you get an instant 5 star wanted level

4:56 for me by far the creepiest is the strange man here... perhaps because we have no interactions with him, his messages, his paintings, the stare from the mirror all just emphasis the horror... but in RDR1 he's not scary at all, just seems like a normal NPC.. it's like horror movies, when they never really show the horror creature but just give hints and show a bit, its faaaar more scarier than if they just plainly show the monster.

Her delivery is perfect - she sounds like she doesn't really understand why she's saying 'he does not belong here' but she also doesn't sound scared by him, just kind of puzzled by his existence. She has no idea why this guy doesn't belong here, she only knows that she's got a fundamental _feeling_ that there's something distinctly wrong about him and he doesn't fit.

Everytime I went by I would stop in and look at it until it was finally complete. I nearly shit my pants when I saw him in the mirror, and it sent shivers down my spine when I turned around and he wasn't there. Man this game is so fucking good!

I always found Gertrude and Nigel to be sad cases and a commentary on how people in the 1800s treated those with mental illness. Gertrude plays the trope straight and is treated like a pariah and hidden away from plain view. At least Nigel subverts it because both his good friend Tom and his mother love him very much and are willing to play along with it.
