Back when Sombra got ult charge from teammates using hacked healthpacks. It was a legitimate strategy to sit on Volskaya first and farm both the mega and mini

Another thing about Zen is that back during the beta, neither of his orbs had LoS durations. You could slap Harmony on your flanker and Discord on whoever you felt like pissing off, and they'd pretty much keep it forever. Discord also couldn't be cleansed at all, and could be stacked on the same target if you had other Zens on the team.

Sigma, a character who has gotten no major buffs since release yet he is still a solid pick.

Aaah, hook 1.0. When enemies thiught they were safe and you'd just hook their nameplate!

any multiplayer online game should have a mode where EVERYTHING is at the most broken state it has ever been as an anniversary celebration mode. just imagine all that in one match. amazing.

Sym generator + torb shield on any 200hp hero making it mini tank, tank being immortal☠️

You forgot the aspect of Scatter Arrow which actually got it removed: what it would do to tanks. The fact that it could 1-Shot Orisa and Zarya, and basically put any other tank in a position where they were bound to die regardless, all just for shooting just at the person's feet.

I used to want big Brig buffs. I used be unaware of the horrors release Brigitte brought. When I found out, I was like, "Y'know, she's fine the way she is! We don't want 'that' to come back!"

Some other big changes to note: Micromissles were an added ability that Dva didnt have. Bigger for her, defense matrix was entirely different. It was a singe use ability with a specific amount of uptime, and then a cooldown of like 6~ seconds. It took a bit before they finally reworked it to be on a resource meter. Of course roadhog later got Vape on a resource meter, and then got a new ability Pigpen to help replicate his old wombo combo. He lost his secondary shot and his primary shot got reworked to have slugs instead of exploding at a certain point in front of him. Torb used to go around collecting scrap and could throw out armor kits to team mates. Sym has had multiple reworks- At one point she basically had sigmas shield as an ability. Not to overlook her losing her lock on. Sombra was reworked, twice. Lifeweaver used to drop flowers on his death that would heal players when they picked them up. This included enemies. Pharahs flight mechanics have been reworked twice. She was changed to be allowed to fly permanently, and then recently had her movement reworked again to have more air-burst mobility, ultimately given a new ability to air-dash. etc

I genuinely miss hook 1.0 even though it was the most broken, rage inducing bullshit. Also another "rework" (bug fix) was genji being able to fucking launch himself by dashing onto ledges

Even tho the heros were broken, I really miss this the old Overwatch. I've spent so many summer nights in 2017 playing it and falling in love with these heroes.

Ashe casually turning into Widow sounds extremely broken and as an Ashe main i would love it

sigma used to have a bug that would up to triple his damage output too

Jesus Christ hook 1.0 would make me piss myself if i even Heard a roadhog in MY GROUP imagine being pharah and getting hooked and clipped through a building because you were in hogs LOS for .2 seconds

That lucio bit was 90% of the video for no reason

Another thing to note about the Lucio one is that while it was 30m it also was not a spherical area but instead just a cylinder, meaning that Lucio could be in the sky box or another character and they would still get healing/speed.

Ah, the good times of OW. Miss those years.

1:23 Those 30m and 12m numbers are the radius of the aura, so when you use that radius to calculate the volume of the sphere that he actually affects, it used to be a whopping 15.625 times larger than it is today. Not percent, TIMES. Ridiculous.

Sometimes when I play Hog I get upset that I land a hook on a blinking Tracer and it breaks. Looking back at the utter batshit crazy things Hook 1.0 could do, I realize it's probably for the best...

I loved winning fights only to realize the Mercy was hiding and then they're all alive again

This video brings back so much memories. Definitely missed these - Old Symmetra with shield gen and 6 turrets - Old Sombra with 6s stealth and 15s translocator (Not a fan of infinite stealth) - Tanks were actually fun

You forgot that Lucio aura could heal people from the sky box as well (love the music btw)

Additionally back in the beta fan the hammer was capable of turning literally any tank into swish cheese seeing as each shot did equal damage to one of his normal shots which is like 70x6 for a 420 damage burst and then you could roll get your ammo back and do it again

Omg the 4 sec cooldown on the shield bash THAT WAS ABLE TO STUN THROUGH SHIELD. That shit gave me ptsd. It was like the best stun in the game and it had the second shortest cooldown in the game after tracer's blink

I'm said Mei's rework to no longer freeze on left click isn't included :c This is the biggest one that still breaks my heart. That and now the pharah rework to no longer recharge fuel in the air. I mained both of these two exclusively in OW1, and now I'm just kinda lost because neither feels right anymore.

Does anyone else remember the Invincible Bastion Weekend when they first gave him his "ironclad" damage resist passive? The damage reduction would stack with things like nano so a nano'd bastion would straight up survive a D.Va bomb (or any other ult in the game). It was incredible lmaoo

This was like the very early days of Overwatch like 2016 before the first seasonal event but remember when Junkrat had 1 mine Rip-tire moved slow and he could get hurt and by his grenades and Dva could die to her own bomb

I played this last in season 2 way back when many of these things still existed. Its crazy to think a lot of it is just gone, the main points of making characters unique and powerful nerfed into a more generic shooter.

Sometimes people forgot that shield generator and torb's armor pack and Brig's rally used to coexist for a short time and that was the ultimate dark age of Overwatch😂 Everyone's a tank with +75 shield +25 armor + 150 armor

I'd argue that with all this crazy gameplay, it's what got it Game of the Year. Only *some* change was needed, like Roadhog hook example. Yeah, characters could one-shot you, but the beauty was that you could one-shot them back, lol. The game is now tickle simulator

Forgot that Zen orb used to have an infinite duration. Just put it on a tracer or genji and they just run around all match. Same for discord orb tracking enemys all game xD

When brig first came out after waiting a whole season to play (because during the season she was unplayable/ disable for whatever reason) I hit top 500 using brig on console season 10 to be exact she was unbelievable broken

I think you're hook 1.0 examples were a updated hook beyond the way it was on release, the updated hook dragged targets to the position they were at when the hook connected before pulling them in, the release hook didn't care and could pull you through ridiculous geometry to put you in front of hog, that is so long as you didn't get stuck anywhere on the way to him.

Despite the memes, you somehow forgot about Mei being able to chain freeze someone, and for a while between the end of OW 1 and start of 2, she could chain freeze multiple people at once because they turned her primary fire from a beam to a cleave. I had endless fun just bullying Hogs off alone.

As a Rein main in past i still have PTSD about Brig release....
