Today Asoka, Rob, and myself review every single McFarlane Toys DC Multiverse Superman action figure. The good. The bad. The Ugly. #dcmultiverse #mcfarlanetoys
All these and I've yet to get that perfect Superman figure. I'd love a new sculpt that's Dan Jurgens inspired that doesn't use a Jim Lee or Miller body, or the "angry red eyes of anger". I feel like we're getting close, though so fingers crossed 🤞
@@Mike_oliver1313 it's close but I don't like the Jim Lee inspiration and the S on the chest is a little too big. I'm still holding out hope for a McFarlane or a Mafex Dan Jurgens inspired Superman.
My main issue with the doomsday two pack superman is that while its a good base for customization it failed in representation the comic it came from by not having the s on the back of his cape. Like that is one of the most iconic parts of the death of superman is his tattered cape with the s on it and that one of the few times mcfarlane chose not put it on a superman. Like the single most important time he needs it
Such a super awesome episode, guys! I totally forgot about so many of these figures! My favorite one is the silver and red Unchained Supes (Patina). I love the color palette and weathering on that guy. Makes for a great desk piece. Can't wait to see more of these figure catalog videos down the road! Brad, you are a true customization MASTER! I'm so inspired to kitbash something because of you, great work!
The animated figures were the first McFarlane DC figures I purchased, I wish he would finish the Animated Justice League.. To this day some of the only McFarlane figures I've paid full price for.
I HATE the head sculpt for Earth 2 Superman. The toy looks like the animated 60's cartoon, by Filmation. I want the figure. LOVE the cape. But, I will do a head swap, for sure. It's the only one of the Infinite Crisis I bought. I don't want to reward this stupid price hike, for the same damn thing. WHY should it cost more than $30? Many McFarlane Superman cost $20.
For the future: I want "Kal " from the Elseworlds comic(he just uses the armor in the cover but never mind that it looks cool), a proper Regeneration Superman with the long hair , Electric Blue Superman , Hunter Prey Superman, a Clark Kent , an the original Erradicator and original Superboy. And for the villians I want any Cyborg Superman they do, I like them all, Parasite(Megafig), Silver Banshee, a classic Mongul, comic Darkseid, Livewire, Maxima, Conduit, the female furies and Granny Goodness.
You guys have to see the superman that came with my atomic skull. It's the doomsday superman without a ripped cape. My wife bought it for me for Christmas. All I wanted was the action 1000 with the bright colors but that's not what I opened on Christmas 😅. I left it in the plastic because it has to be a factory mistake.
So far, there’s no good McFarlane Superman. It has to be the one where I don’t have to modify anything and don’t have to swap parts. That’s what I would call the best McFarlane Superman figure and there isn’t one. If someone is holding a gun to my head threatening to end me if I don’t say which one, then I’d pick maybe Page Punchers Superman. I hate the muted colors, weird cape, weird belt, and giant hands, but other than those flaws, that’s ideally what a Superman is supposed to look like. He looks human and proportionate. Probably the only Superman that doesn’t look so deformed. Comes with both fist hands and both open hands and has a flight stand. Head sculpt looks like handsome Squidward, but Supes has always looked like that before Handsome Squidward. Also, the head gives me the Jim Lee Supes vibe, which helps. Sorry, I’m high on energy drink. 😅
My favourite still is the Superman 1000(and thanks for that tip , Brad! I will change those shoulders!) The Death of superman had a lot of potential, but the most egregious mistake was not giving him two fists! He's literally fighting to the death, he didn't need anything but the two fists. Of course in a perfect world he would have a removable cape with the s symbol and a stick in the diorama to hold it as a flag. Also his suit needed to be more torn and ripped, they had the black suit one to use as a capeless torso so it could be done at no extra cost to have a capeless torso.
I love the super beefy supes that came out recently, he is goofy but I love him for it, his head is too small but it kind of works with the ridiculous body proportions, the blue is perfect, it makes him look even more swole
Well this hour flew by faster than a speeding bullet! I wound up going to Amazon and buying two Superman figures while watching this one. You guys inspired me to do some customizing.
Well, I like longer capes and no S on the cape. But the figures should match the source material. No use in bitching about a figure because of your own taste, right? 3:00
Don't forget Superman the Dark Side! That was another Superman Elseworlds story. There were lots of other Elseworlds stories in between Speeding Bullets and Red Son.
I did the same thing with my superman vs ultraman 2 pack stuck hush trunks on superman and swapped out that rebirth cape for ultramans and slapped the mullet superman head with a longer neck peg on it and for shits and giggles stuck the smiling Guido head on the bright blue Miller superman body with a longer neck peg and squished the head!
