William Leonard Roberts II (born January 28, 1976), known professionally as Rick Ross, is an American rapper, songwriter, entrepreneur, and record executive.
Rick Ross is also the founder of the successful Maybach Music Group (MMG), which has released some 10 albums since he founded the label in 2009.
Most recently, Rick Ross aka Ricky Rozay set a high-water mark when he released three consecutive full-length studio albums in less than two years, Hood Billionaire and Mastermind in 2014, and Black Market in 2015.
After 10 studio albums, the Grammy-nominated rapper became a published author with the September 2019 release of Hurricanes: A Memoir. The autobiography delved into Ross' upbringing and career on both sides of the law, as well as the headline-grabbing moments like the seizures that nearly killed him in 2011 and the attempt on his life via drive-by shooting in 2013.
