He unfortunately lost his battle with cancer not long after entering hospice. If you look up some of his videos, you might recognize him (though probably a younger/healthier version of him).

Love that the reptile room will be in memory of Brian. It feels like everything happened so fast, hate that he didn’t get to see the Legasea. But to be fair, building something like that, you kinda expect there to be setbacks. Too many different manufacturers and contractors, for there not to be any delays. Brian, will definitely be missed, he was a good person. RIP Brian🙏🏻

Ben, put you can put a small amount of livestock molasses in the water diluted for the horses to get them to drink the water, and prevent freezing. Every day on a cold morning we'd put a couple of pails of warm water with the molasses, which they happily sucked down, this kept them hydrated, prevented colic. We live up in wicked coldass New Hampsha... You can add to larger outdoor water sources to cut down on ice. its also good for goats (when you have them). You'll have to check on who else can have it. Ooh. That's neat. Guess it works like road salt, but, like, palatable and not incredibly unhealthy? Lowers the freezing temp, probably also raises the boiling temp? Good trick.

You should look into getting bubblers for their water tanks. It's a little air pump that pumps bubbles to keep the water moving and it wont freeze over.

Hey Ben! I love watching your videos as they make my day. I would recommend putting heaters in your enclosures for the Rheas for warmth, for those really cold days that you have to lock them up. Probably something hanging from the ceiling so they won't get to it but I think that will help with the freezing cold temps for them. I believe they'll make it through the cold winter either way because you care so much and handle them so well!!
