Strange that one of the most controversial PvP players is one of the only content creators to not spoil things for the community. It is almost like he actually cares about the game and the experience it presents, which seems to be the polar opposite of a lot of PvE content creators and players.
@ricardimension lore in base game tells you who it is. I guess it could be someone else but the general of war was the fiercest warrior and all followed him into battle
@@blu-rae864no legitimately sulyvahn has more aura. Fighting in a chapel ominous faced being with fire and purple moonlight (amazing color combo). Cool stand gimmick that isn't too bullshit. Sulyvahn towering over us more also helps I think.
From what i've seen the PvP players do pretty well against the bosses (watched Chase's stream vods yesterday), cuz they can quickswap and juggle buffs like it's nobody's business.
He also seems to have quite a few fragment levels more here than most content creators (and probably players) encountering her for the first time, judging by the damage he's taking.
@@notan3144 He also uses Boiled Crabs and Ritual Shield Talisman so i think the fragment levels don't matter much defense-wise. Notice how he started taking way more damage in phase 2 when the Rellana started dealing more mixed damage.
Yesterday I was fighting NG+7 Bayle at scadutree lvl13. I needed: - Dragoncrest Greatshield Talisman -Ritual Shield Talisman -Opaline Hardtear -Golden Vow -Black Blame Protection -Blessing of the Erdtree Stacked all at once just to survive his grab with like 10hp.
@@felipedeandrade the best thing about elden ring and by extention its DLC is definitely exploration boss fights however.... many bosses but overall definitely a few more miss steps compared to previous games the random enemies you encounter before the bosses can and should still be ridiculously hard though, i like how the DLC has 1 winter lantern from Blood Borne but on super steroid haha
@@redacap Well, though enemies are good and if exploration is the main thing, then it must be better than the original game's or at least similar (which would be terrible, because er exploration is boring as fuck). However, I dont like the idea of an exploration based DLC, from's dlcs was always a good mix between exploration and good bossfights. That said, if the best boss in the DLC is pontiff, then it is bad
I feel like everyone gets balled by the moonballs first try, seeing the moon ballsack the first time took me completely out of the fight, like they wanted to figure out how to power creep the moon, so they went with TWO moons lmao
This boss took my 3 tries. The first two times I got greedy at the end. She had like 1 hp. I was like nooooooooooooo lol. Third time I barely used my flask.
I try not to use status (which I really should), so the first time I beat her I used an ironjar and facetanked her with dual broadswords and sword insignia+prosthesis
@@leonardo9259 If you go frame by frame using the , and . buttons you can see that in the first attack she does a ~180 and then immediately after she snaps by around 90 degrees to try and rollcatch him and at the end of the combo at 4:02 she also does a ~180 despite it being a slow move.
"2 slashing attacks, cool, now some spin attack, cool. One more spin, yep, aaand another spin slash, mhm mhm. Top it with delayed slash, yes, now she should be don- nope, two more spinny spin spin. Ok. So when is my turn?" That's how it went for me fighting this boss lol

You can get up to 50% damage mitigation while completely naked in base game elden ring with just the physick, one talisman and one consumable that can be bought infinitely AND no stat requirements for any of this so it is functional for any build. With even basic armor, that can go up to ~60-65% BASE GAME. There's no excuse to get 1 or 2 shot by anything in a boss fight unless you are not utilizing what is given to you in game or ignoring Vigor as a stat. Jee has a optimal build with good armor, talismans, and probably defense raising stuff in his flask. I'm a mediocre souls player, and I beat Mesmmer in 4 tries (NG+, lvl 150). I got hit a fuckton, but I tanked it all with just lv 9 scadu. Bc I have 60 vigor and utilize the defense boosting options the game supplies me. Edit: Boiled Crab is the consumable, Dragoncrest Greatshield Talisman, and Opaline Hardtear.
Man.... I wish I could make dodge go out on press, not on release.... I thought my reflexes were beyond busted when I couldn't dodge any attack of hers on time, but once I tried the deflect tear, I could guard point every single hit. It's a world of difference using a single press to negate damage.
@@warcoder I have been spamming L1 a bit when it's about to hit me and it's working, seems way more forgiving than Sekiro on that regard. Anyways, use it WITH a greatshield and you're golden, using it on normal weapons is too risky, unless you know the boss moveset 100%.

Heavy armor, defense talisman, crab defense buff, 10% defense physic, 10% defense bragard roar, heal shield, heal buff, pretty much everything that you can stack I did not have much scadookie tree branch as this was the very first story boss ive encountered
i play through the dlc with my ng7 character first and the damage and heallth of the bosses are out of this world. i was fed up after getting 1500dmg repeatedly and killed the boss with summons
@@to_the_vo1d Yeah, I kept +17/+7 as I only enjoy invading. I would rather find a way to cheese a boss than level up past my preferred invading bracket. However, I didn't cheese this one as It's just the same as every other boss, bleed bleed bleed! Lol.
I must admit to summoning a Spirit for this boss. I used an Arcane RL 125 build for her, and Status effects really helped me tick down the fight. I summoned Jarwight Puppet as she was transitioning to Phase 2, for more status buildup. I think I was SB 4 with her, and it took 4 attempts. Pontiff 2.0 is fun, I am definitely going to be putting my sign down for her, to practice more.
What's wrong with summoning spirit ash for the boss? That's like being ashamed of dodging, blocking, chugging heals or self-buffing... if they give me a combat mechanic, I'm using it
@@DisemboweII I still try to beat some of these bosses without one, though. Sometimes I get impatient and want to see what's beyond them, so I can finish this up and get started trying to PvP with all the weird stuff before some of it gets nerfed to oblivion.
Yeah I had several really close attempts, even with a controller that sometimes drops inputs, before I gave up, switched my greatswords to blood infusion and summoned somebody to help me spank her ass
Bayle is so strong he crashes my system every time he swaps to phase 2 😔Almost able to skip the entire transition but cant proc fast enough lol (even switched from str to arcane to try to force it)
That's the damage she deals on NG? Man.. On NG+7 she could threeshot me with her basic slashes, twoshot with phase 2 slashes and magic and oneshot with her twohanded attacks. Those quick uppercut slashes kept messing with me.
@@midorayo1149 Nah look at his stats. His claws only have 739 ar with over 50 dex. If he had a lot of scadutree he would have way more. He is this tanky because he is stacking a lot of buffs and resistances.
I’d like to see some more g9 pve content tbh… you are an insane player not only in pvp but also pve and have so much knowledge on little tips to help on boss fights. Its very interesting to watch
You can beat the crap out of her during the phase transition... I didnt find her that difficult tbh. I didnt play for a year and used my 125 pvp build with a cold Zweihander. No buffs, no shield, no swapping.
this was prob the first and only boss i've ever had to chainsaw dude my character was like new game quadrillion or somethn and every stray hit from it did 1.8K damage
scaling stops at 8+, the dlc is brutal at that scaling. I got 1 shot so many times when I wasn't expecting a boss and forgot to tali swap lol. Ritual shield tali/black flame protection are your best friend there
@@Heowolf i've been using just parrying the NPC characters to death and relying on Raptors for more hard hitting enemies for free jump attack punishes lately tho i've been getting a lot of Scadutree fragments so i can fight most of the enemies like usual now
@@KaptainKommissar once I hit +15 I felt I was around the same difficulty as the base game lol. There is one boss in particular that made it feel like it didnt matter though lol, I don't want to spoil anything for you because idk how far in you are. I'll just say it looks like its in an OG poison arena with dead trees, but it's not poisonous. Raptor's doesn't work for it's AoE, you have to dodge INTO the point of origin (which isnt it's torso) to dodge it.
I played on ng+3 against that boss because thats my only character and she demolished me in 3 but mostly 2 hits some attacks even 1 hit (mostly the large magic swords slash) with 60 vig on top of that she had a billion quatillion trillion health and was like mega resistent to most things i tried to the point i didnt feel like bleeding her was worth the risk.
I had a similar experience fighting her, she hit a little harder though I didn't have as much fragments. A lot of people complain about her difficulty.
This was my favourite boss, did it with the Milady without scadu bonuses just because how fun of a duel it was. Really wish there was a rematch option for these bosses.
The reason why a lot of people say that Rellana is tough, is probably that they have a low lvl Scadutree blessing & i was one of them to get the Marital arts weapon as fast as possible.
Scadutree blessings help a lot in making her easier. I think a lot of the people struggling are trying her with barely any scadutree blessing or potentially even none.
I agree it's not nearly as bad as the reddit shitters think it is; the only criticism I really have being the seemingly limitless poise. I wouldn't be opposed to making her just a bit more staggerable.
I wished the damage I took when I faced her wasn't 10x the damage you're taking. I only had 5-6 scradutree because I thought she was gate keeping the rest of the DLC areas and that I would have to kill her to continue exploration.
Tbf, your build is cracked and you're using shit tons of buffs, most people that play this game are not going to bother stacking like 20 different buffs every time they want to fight a boss. Try fighting that boss without a status build and without all those buffs and the experience is completely different.
Talismans are pretty much normal, armors are fine im sure everyone and their momma rocking that set, prawn are okay theyre so easy to get. The average player can get this like right off the bat, I dont think its that complicated as you make it to be. The only extra thing he did was the roar and body buff. Not even fancy if you ask me. Weapons are busted but they get the job done. His spacing and reaction are really good anyway, i doubt it would impact that much.
I beat Rellana relatively easy as well, rl150, lv4 Skabidi fragment, solitude set, shielddrake, no buff aside from prawn. Im also getting very minimal dmg. I was 2 handed a quality mace with Endure, pop the skill then pretty much R1 the boss to death.
@@08aaa81 Most players are not even going to know about the crab, I didn't even catch on to what they did until my 300th hour, and status build is easy mode as you can kill the bosses by just trading blows as you can kill them fast enough that it doesn't matter that you're burning through your flasks like crazy. Like yeah, she's really not that bad, but without all those buffs he wouldn't be able to tank those hits like he was. I was at Scadu level 5 when I fought her with full solitude armor, damage reduction talismans and so on with 60 vigor and a pure strength/faith build and she nearly one hit me with her Carian Greatsword ability meanwhile he just tanks it like it's nothing.
@@SekiberiusWelkesh that crazy man, the carian thing fuck up me up too. I think jee tank it bc he equip the Spelldrake, that helps a ton. In my case I just Endure it through, though still hurt like crazy.
