chills start to finish, every single time. Julia is incredible, her quiet intensity and the bursts of physical release. Everyone lauds her performance when Laura died (rightly so) but to me, this whole "night" where she confronts Adam with the dark truth is haunting and searing. Unforgettable.
This is some great stuff...JB/DC are beyond incredible in these scenes...they draw you in making you believe that it's actually real...I guess that's what great acting is all about...
was there any other woman in all the soaps who endured this much abuse from the same man over and over and yet remain with him for much of the rest of it? This one was just the beginning. Even in the lamented online version they were still an item.
In The UK it was Sharon Mitchell and her true love Phil on Eastenders. Even when she dated, slept with and married other guys it was always Phil even when she was married to his Brother Grant. Letitia Dean who has been playing Sharon on and off since 1985 at 16 had one of the most memorable scenes when the Folks in The Bar on Eastenders heard that she slept with Phil while married to Grant. She got an honorary Award for her contribution to Soaps at the British Soap Awards.
Hilarious. Brooke was bad when she was young. She stole other women’s men and tried to drive Devon to suicide. Now I remember why I didn’t love Brooke like everyone else did.
I never could stand Dixie, the poor helpless damsel in distress always annoyed me. I hated that she was from Pigeon Hollow West Virginia even more because I’m from WV.
This had such a Garden Of Shadows Vibe to it. Dixie was so much like Alicia Foxworth. Adam was "charming" like Garland but "cruel" like Malcolm. How and why Brooke went back to Adam over and over is beyond me.
@@stephaniereece5757 It's so bonechilling to see what she did. She was so enamoured of Adam and did a major sin. Thou Shall Not Committ Adultery. Then she and Tad had a very complicated relatinship where they married over and over again. Dixie & Brooke have so much in common, they were both married to Adam & Tad and then Brooke like Erica was married to Tom Cudahy.
A similar storyline is on the UK Soap Opera Emmerdale where Charity Dingle finds out her Husband Mackenzie aka "Mack" had a One Night Stand with another Woman named Chloe who gave him a Son Ruben. However, there's a very strong possibility that he's not the Father, that another man named Nate (Who Is Biracial is). Another Man who could be the "Father" is Padriac "Paddy" Kirk a Veterinarian. Adam was so obsessed with having a Baby from his Blood & Seed he would do anything to have it.
I told UK Soap Fans how Julia's Daughter Alison Hirschlag briefly played Lizzie Spaulding on Guiding Light. In The UK alot of Kids follow in their Parents Footsteps and do very well. Siblings too. Hope Stape on Coronation Street, is The Sister of a Character named April on Emmerdale and her Twin Brother plays Joe on Coronation Street as well. Hope & Joe don't do scenes together.
Another person who did well was Phoebe Dynevor from Bridgerton whose Mother Sally plays "Sally" Metcalfe on Coronation Street on and off since 1986. UK Soap Actors have a longer staying power to the point that they all but grow up on the show. Then Dixie gets a taste of her own medicine when she finds out about Tad & Liza. Dixie wasn't in love with Adam she was in "Love' with the image of him. Alot of women who go for older men are in that boat. To Dixie Adam is a self made man who worked his way out of Pigeon Hollow, VA., she never had a proper male role model. It's the oldest cliche in the Book. Brooke/Eric The Bold & The Beautiful, then Jill with Phillip Chancellor II, then Stuart Brooks or John Abbott.
If Dixie did this to a member of The Dingle Family on Emmerdale (1972-Present) they would have had the Dingle Court, gotten medeival on her backside and told her to get the heck out of town. They first started out as Trailer Trash but are now well known and respected. Sadly enough one of the family members lydia was raped and she finally confessed and her Family are going to get their revenge.
