**IMPORTANT NOTE** Thanks to @OG_pRotality for the tip on the Maxwell. The XBox version does work on PS5, but you have to have the donlge in PC mode and you have to use the USB-A to USB-C adapter to go into one of the rear ports only. Wild, but it works. For those asking about a DAC/Amp - I'm currently working on a video about just that, but in the meantime, I use an ifi Zen Dav v2 as my daily on my gaming desk. It will run 90% of the headphones you'll encounter, has a low power mode for IEMs, and has a really quality bass boost dsp button for headphones you may find lacking. I'll link it in the description if you're able to snag one cheap for the holiday sales.
Heyo thanks for the shoutout but no need just glad I could help! Love seeing you and Joe collab and hopefully there’s more in store for the future. Cheers!
Can you make an extension on audio 101, or some sort of video that incorporates how interfaces like elgato xlr, or similar fit into the mixture. I am interested in a dac/amp combo but I am not sure how an xlr microhpone or something like the wave link software fits in. Thank you!
While the video shoot itself didn’t go well, the experience and memories gained from it were off the charts! Thanks so much for the collab and the kind words bro! Awesome video!!
I don't really even watch much tech YT anymore because I have what I need for now, but when there's a new Badseed video I click. Keep up the amazing work.
Damn...I watched YT shorts with this guy on, and a comment said that "this guy is for the people" and that he "doesn't beg for subscription" or like and shares...just pure content. (Which I love, btw) very informative and straight to the point. This is why I subscribed. Simple and direct.
Great video! I was hoping you’d mention some book shelf speakers/monitors or anything in that nature. Would be something for a future video? I didn’t really use headphones as much
Joey is the smartest human being I've ever known. No matter what I am working on, if its tech I know I can call Joe and get the answer I need. He has been working so hard on his channel / videos and I am so happy to see him collabbing with other great creators like you @Badseedtech Hopefully the next time you film you put a "Don't forget to hit record" sign on the camera! 😁
Soundcore liberty 4 for ear buds my god they are solid. Been using for over a year and just wow not one single issue phone calls are great Siri works great and not to mention they are sexy. The case is cool as well. Eq can really really make them shine.
i got my pair of sony WF1000xm4s for $90 as an open box on ebay and for that price its pretty hard to beat imo if youre reading this i would definitely keep an eyes on the used or refurbished market cuz ive been seeing some insane deals recently
The kiwi ears cadenza are the absolute best budget iems. Ive tried pretty much all of them. The cadenzas compete with $2-300 iems easily. I prefer them over the orchestra lites.
I'm looking at getting new/new-to-me headphones. I'm considering used. What are potential reasons/issues for NOT buying used? In particular, I'm looking at 250 ohm 770s and a heretic amp.
I have many headphones. For gaming plainars produce the best soundstage and once you train you brain you can nail opponents with sound location. S12 so good for game audio!
I can't do maxwells... even with wicked cushions these seal too well and I can hear my haertbeat. Such a shame I had to return them/ Looking for comfortable more open/less sealing headset for ps5
i love your video thanks to you i went and got me my first pair of wireless headphones i wish i could have got the Audeze maxwell but always sold out haha but i settle for the stealth pros and they are fantastic !!!
What about the best wireless headset for PC? I'm looking for a work headset that can last a long time 12+ hours, has a good to great mic, and is comfortable. I am not able to install software on my work PC so Logitech is out.
i had bought the audeze headset and my sounds all messed up if i click on steam or a game the audio volume maxes out to 100% and will go back if i click on a tab like google
What would u take for imaging for gaming and whatever for music the hd 560 s, the dt 900 pro x or the audeze Maxwell? Ik they a big price difference but im interesting in buying one of the 3
I have a possibly stupid question for IEM lovers and enthusiasts... are there any good IEMs that have a mic? The main reason I would be interested in upgrading to IEMs is so I can use them on the go with my phone. I use my phone's 3.5mm jack every single day, and would love to pair it with IEMs... but every pair of IEMs I've seen don't have a mic, which kind of sucks for answering phone calls. Any advice is appreciated!
I got the signature X headphones because of this video, but when finally got around to use them I didn't get the bass I thought I would be getting. Is this because I need a dac/amp to run them? Or I'm I doing something wrong? I due use Spotify so is that it?
Its just so uncomfortable for so long that its tough to recommend. The clamp force is crazy. Audio wise, they have similar characteristics but you’re gonna get more bass response out of the 990s
I had the Maxwells & just couldn't get onboard with them at all. I have Beyerdynamic Tygr 300R with schiit dac/amps & it just blows the Maxwells out of the water for me. The long term comfort, plus the fact they're open back & the sound is just better, yeah... I wanted to love the Maxwells, but I just couldn't Plus I have a Shure MV7 mic, and that just decimates the Maxwell mics & makes the headset only good for "wireless", which at £320, isn't worth it.
i want to like the pc38x - i have them sitting right next to me, but they're incredibly quiet and you can hear EVERYTHING around you (outside of the game) - makes it impossible for me to focus on game sounds
@@AkaSora96 yeah i have it allll the way up pc volume on 80 game volume 100 the open back thing just isn't for me, i think. i hate being able to hear my keyboard, PC fans, etc. especially if i'm playing valorant/pubg/etc where footsteps are super important
How long have you had the Signature X for? A lot of reviews on Drop saying how the hinges have broken rendering them unwearable - even after apparent normal desktop usage. This is my only concern and have stopped me from purchasing them over the similarly priced and similar sound signature Meze 99 Noir/Classic.
its worth mentioning since the baclsharks are in here... Razer is still in the midst of huge blowback from destroying their drivers in a synapse update. Buyer beware.
@badseedtech it might feel that way for the end product, but all the hours spent trying all that gear is worth something. 👌 it's like diggin in deep and fast ha
@badseedtech would be nice to see the original format as well, but I agree, this is dynamic, enjoyable and helpful as hell. Ive been following all major tech channels for years now, but currently start to tend to you, if I want to reliable info with best structure (also gadgetry is great runner up and d2d is practically god-tier. actullay, you have it here, my podium for best three). many thanks for keepin it real haha
I love these end of year videos. I think it really gives a lot of insight to see how you truly feel about something over the long term. Love long term updates - especially for ones relating to gear. Peripherals in general are great to hear a retrospective on.
Definitely, these are the sort of videos I don't skip over at all, really have to appreciate the lifestyle of these folks which leads to their valuable input on products/experiences!
Both you guys are just gems. Great content, always informative, and always detailed. It's you two that keep my credit card smoking hot. Keep it up Brian and Joe. Crushing it fellas.
Good on you how you raised the Ultrasones. Your bang on with facts... and they are the markets little secret @$200!!!! I love mine, and watching your video when they where in transit did me no good hahaha! Was fun see you into them, I also will keep forever. I have many stereo systems doing differant things, sometimes you just want something that gets ya pumped, exciting - and also might not at a place to be all analytical in. I use these closed headphoens at work with big amp. Highly recommend - for $200 nothing is close what they do, nothing!! Well done Badseed seeing this and being bold to say it! A+ bro
Happy to know that you had a collab with Joe. I watch both of your videos and that’s what made me decided on the Maxwell. No regrets so far. I also daily drive Sony XM4 but as soon as the AirPods Pro 2 came up, I got that and that has been my daily driver. XM4 eartips wasn’t a perfect fit, after a while, it hurts one of my ear and also had issue with the battery. Pro 2 has been rock solid so far and it’s a good all rounder for a iPhone and iPad user like myself
Hey badseed! Another great video. Debating on pulling the trigger for the Maxwells. I have been on the Sennheiser hd800s (tuned for some extra bass). I would love to have a wireless pair of cans for gaming, are Maxwells going to pale by comparison to the hd800s? I mean I know the answer is obviously, but is the difference massive? Or is it worth it for wireless even if you have a high end pair like the hd800s?
i can save you some work and effort. im returning the Acezone A-spire, too many flaws. currently trying the TB Stealth Pros, so far already much better. Would love to be able to try the Maxwells, but i can not find them anywhere sadly
Wireless isn't for me. I don't want to have to mess with batteries or pay double the price just to do without a wire. I know I'm in the minority because finding a review for a wired set of headphones is like finding a leprechaun
I wish Sennheiser would make a closed back version and wireless version that is similar to the HD560s. I have the 569's now and they're amazing, just wish they were wireless.
Wow, I'm really surprised about the Ultrasone headphones. My experience with Ultrasone headphones in the past has been that of really sharp treble that almost made my ears bleed. lol
TB Stealth Pro was on sale for $279 last week, plus a 10% off code on TB's website, so I ended up getting them. Though that was after I went to buy the Maxwell and found that they were on backorder with a 2 month wait. Now I am looking for an affordable headset just to listen to YT and music while on my work PC.
Something that never gets talked about when it comes to earbuds, and the deciding factor for me when I went with the Sony WF-1000XM5s, is multi-point connection. I can be gaming on my PC at 6:00am and seamlessly grab my phone and start streaming music for my morning walk without touching a single setting or removing the earbuds.
I don't do a lot of FPS, so it isn't much of an issue, and I only use the earbuds when it's late in the evening or early in the morning. Even if I'm just browsing online, it's nice being able to switch from the PC to the iPhone and back again seamlessly. @@badseedtech
Ultrasone bass has always had a special place for me. I still treasure my Ultrasone Pro 2900 and its amount of bass for an open back. I'd still be using them if the foam hadn't completely deteriorated.
My astros a50 gen 4 died the other week for no reason and I’ve been trying to figure out why but I can’t get it to work so I’m in need of a new headset badly and I’m torn between the audeze Maxwell and the turtle beach but I’ve heard the mic on the turtle beach randomly dies and stops working for a lot of people and the audeze some people have reported the speakers will break randomly so idk what to get. If I could find a cheap pair of the new astro a50x I would get them but I can’t
I was so excited for the maxwell. I drove an hour to pick them up fired up and was disappointed in the audio quality. I know i must be crazy but my EPOS H6PRO paired with my sound blaster GC7 sounded better to my ears. I think im going to try the turtle beach stealth pro for my PC. Also i dont understand how you only have 36k subscribers. Your content is exceptional and in comparison your shitting on the competition. Your in-depth, honest and just have a likable personality no homo. Keep putting out these bangers. Shoot for 5k by end of year. Good shit brother.
In short. Just buy the Maxwell and be done with it = Endgame! Dont have it but love planar magnetics. Just bought one wireless with some Audeze tech in it, the Edifier stax spirit s3. For about 149$ :-P
How is the transparent mode on the Sony XM5s? I don't even have an iPhone, but I got the Airport Pros 2 just because I immediately loved the transparency mode on them when I first heard it. Its so good. NC and Sound quality can be compared, but the transparent mode is on a whole other level
