Lovely to see all your Phalaenopsis in 🌸🌸🌸. I do like the white ones, very elegant. The so called Las Vegas Phal. blooms are really beautiful 😍🧡. Very HOT and humid weather lately over here 🥵.

Hello Roger, the blooms are looking so beautiful! You could try the slow-release pellets in a mesh drawstring little bag, laying it in the pot and when you're ready to remove it, just take out the bag. Just a thought!

You're right about the mini blooms being right at the top of the window, but blooms don't photosynthesis anyway, so you'd still get to enjoy them. The large phal could actually go on the shelf and the long spike could grow to the ceiling! Or you could let the spike go natural (instead of staking it) and let it cascade downward.... Actually, you could let all the phals on the shelf cascade naturally and not worry about them hitting the ceiling. Lots of options and by adding a shelf, you can spread your babies out, giving them all more air flow! 💖🌞🌵😷

At the moment, quite a few are in the growroom as the temps are ok - but come the Winter, they will need to come inside the house. By then, the Mini-Phals will be out of bloom.

@@GrowingOrchidswithRoger so adding a shelf would suit your needs... What about a temporary shelf? ... Put it up for winter when they come inside and take down the shelf when they go out for the summer? 💖🌞🌵😷

I bought some of those as well. I’ve got a yellow dark pink a pale pink and even a Po one is well. They are great value for money and yours are looking good.😮

What about a couple of brackets and corner shelves on each side of the window? That'll give you some space for a couple more, and you could have the brackets/shelves lower & just reorganise your plants when they spike?

Maybe a homemade shelf. Whare the shelf, at least is a mesh. Spikes can go through the mash along with light. The one down side. I can think of is. If you've got a spike growing through the shelf. You can't move that particular plant.

I dont stake my phalaenopsis's . That way they don't get high. Natural henging down. My D.hibiki are flowering now.

Yes, it faces North so no direct sun. This time of year, I feed at most waterings at somewhere between 300-400 ppm and my feed usually contains a Nitrogen and Calcium boost.

They mainly get the left-over water from feeding the orchids.

Hi Roger, do you find the mini phalaenopsis are easier to get to rebloom than the large flowered variety? I'm asking as I have rebloomed my minis but my large one hasn't, it does grow leaves, maybe he's just stubborn

Most of the time, the problem(s) with not re-blooming are environmental factors like temp/light.

Did you cut those Phal spikes before buds appeared on the branch or after, I have some that branched half way up and the part that hasn't got buds is just ugly. Can I cut that without problems for the bit that remains

On the kitchen windowsill, the dark pink one had the spike cut and then the branch grew. The large yellow one had one of the two spikes removed completely - the other spike was left to extend and it grew the branch.

@@GrowingOrchidswithRoger better not risk it then, mine have really long branches with flowers and developing buds, the upper part is bare and it just looks ugly
