wow in my youth there was something to drink and eat and a plastic bag for garbage and a book. And then we sang and told stories and played games like 'I spy with my little eye' and when we were too whining we got told off and pulled ourselves together. No wonder the new generations think that the sun HAS to shine on them the whole day.
The things I get it whatever I grab from the house sooo- pillow, blanket, and whatever food we get along the way. Can’t go on my phone because then I’ll throw up :)

It's like kids do not know how to occupy themselves. Without constant stimulation! A big part of growing up is to use your imagination and make up your own activities.
I’ve got one that gets so car sick. She’s 15 but she’s been like this since she was about 2mo old. My older girls were 12 and 9 when she was born so they grew up knowing how to quickly grab the bags for throw up 😂. Now that’s she’s better able to handle herself we start the Dramamine a day prior to driving that far. If we don’t, it won’t work. She takes it a full 24 around the clock and then the full day of driving. Just a tip for those who get super sick. I lost count of how many car seats we used to throw away. Once time we found a car wash and sprayed it off but on a drive like that h can’t just toss it on the hood to dry. We always had to stop and buy a new one. My in laws traveled behind us one year and brought a spare 😂. They came prepared.
On our 12-hour road trips every summer my brother and I would each pack our backpacks with our own entertainment for not just the car ride, but the whole vacation at our grandparent's house. We would bring books, circle-a-words, GameBoys-DS, for the car ride, and game consoles to hook up to the tv in the finished basement. For most of the trip we slept, for the rest, we played slug-bug, talked, watched the view outside the windows, and sang to our Backstreet Boy CDs my mom would play. We didn't need a lot of entertainment, we learned how to entertain ourselves. And if you are wondering, we did all 12 hours in one day, from north Texas to Iowa. Left around 4-6 am would stop for lunch and gas outside of OK City, stop for lunch and gas outside of Kansas City, MO, and a few rest stops on the way. We were efficient and would take less than an hour at a stop. I can now drive from Texas to northern California in 2 days (a 24-hour drive without stops) because of the road trips I grew up taking.
I made myself comfortable with a blanket and pillow and used my bag as a footrest And if I felt nauseous my mom would say “switch with your sister in case you throw up you can do it out the window.”😊
Definitely going to do this I have a 12 hour trip this Wednesday and I have a almost 5 year old brother and he will love the markers to draw on the window
This is so sweet. But my mom just gives us a bag to pack activities ourselves in and cuts fruit and gets trail mix and water. Usually we read, or listen to a book. XD sounds fun, but lots of work
I have the seal thingy that hangs it's perfect for activitys I definitely recommend it for kids over 5 or 3 beacause its mostly pointless any older or younger so I 100% reccomend it 😂 btw I mean over 5 or 3 just incase u got it messed up lol
You really need to post a video about what helps your girls with nausea because I have nausea a lot on road trips just by itself and I can’t find anything to curate except for mint gum and sometimes water

im a person who hates the smell and taste of plastic this is a really good idea for people who dont mind it but just imagine how bad it smells in the car with all that plastic (sorry if you take this as hate i think this is very cool im just a freak with plastic rubber etc)
bro my mom be reminding me that we have a 6 hour dive two minutes before we leave not reminding me to get my phone or airpods until we have been on the road for 20 min and can’t turn back she don’t even give me a blanket
Where were you with the disposable bath mats before I spilled a 44Oz strawberry cream Dr Pepper on my drivers side floor board and the hubby spilled the same size Dr Pepper on floor in the back seat🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
This is perfect if it was a perfect world. I’m a working mom with 2 children and trying to find the time to do all these activities just isn’t practical. Not to mention how overstimulating it is to the children and how they will grow up thinking that they always need to be doing something. They need to know that it’s ok to look out the window and enjoy the ride.
